Me. too!
Success!
And with that, this thread will certainly be shut down next time a bored moderator wanders through.
BUT YE CANNA TAKE ME COLANDERRRRRS!!!
You know people, I’ve hesitated to post this because I don’t want it to seem like I’m bragging, but…
While I only have 2 colanders, 3 strainers and 2 tea balls, MY MOTHER has 4 colanders.
I guess you can see why I was reticent to post such a thing.
Okay, I’ll step up here. Three colanders, and six strainers, not including teacup size. I think it’s time to weed out a few and give them to some poor people, maybe some Medicaid trainwrecks who haven’t provided the proper safety net (aka strainers) for themselves.
And, because I like working with my hands just like lindsaybluth, I bought an extra lid at Goodwill for a 5-qt pot I have and hammered holes in one side of it with an awl to make my own homemade pasta strainer, so I have all the benefits without having to buy another pot. It’s awesome, kind of like a colander, but upside-down. This is actually true. I think my creativity comes from being fed milk four times a day as a child. Feel free to ask me any questions. I’ll do my best to answer them.
How would everyone categorize a french press?
dude. did she buy them without telling your father? please start a thread about this.
I only have one colander. No, no, hold your sympathy.
It’s a Martha Stewart model from Macy’s.
Now who’s turning green with envy?
That’s a really good idea - I’m sure the board will benefit from my unique perspective. ‘Ask the child of the woman with 4 colanders’ thread forthcoming…
I think the humor here is beginning to get a little strained.
A French press!? You just made me drop my monocle into my brandy snifter!
I for one would be heartily impressed if lindsaybluth turned out to be a regular nice person who was whooshing this entire board all this time. I’ve never seen Arrested Development so the name never rang a bell, and as some have pointed out that character is obnoxious but in a different way…but still, to spend lo these many months playing the part of an elitist, delusional, pretentious snob? And whoosh a board that prides itself on being able to see right through that kind of bullshit?
It can’t be easy to carry on like that for months at a time unless that’s your real personality. And I guess for it to have been a really colossal whoosh it should have been closer to character. But still, impressive nonetheless.
The Bluths were not Cuban or Indian, nor were they doctors. So not whoosh likely at all in my expert, two-colander opinion.
one of my colanders is green…well, blue-green.
That’s what’s popularly known as “trolling,” and is not something nice people do, by definition.
As hurtful as she’s been to so many people, I can’t imagine finding such a ruse to be amusing.
Hrm. Can’t argue with that. Good point. If she did find it amusing, that would suggest she’s some sort of psychopath, thereby rendering the whole experiment null and void.
Ok, I got nuthin.
Then the question is, did she self identify that way, and so choose the name? So are the things she has been pitted for, are they identity traits that she has chosen to live with, and identify with enough that she has chosen her name based on them?
That is rather awesome, and while it doesn’t lessen the hurtfulness of some of her comments, it is a bit more insightful than I would expect such a person of being- which is why it begs the whoosh question.
Now, I don’t think it is a whoosh, but I also am rather impressed by the username and multipost combo. I wish she would weigh in on it, but am curious if she would lable it an inane comparison, or ‘irony’ (which would be ironic, and again beg the question), or what…
lindsaybluth? Honey? Anything?
Colander? I barely knew 'er!
My money is on intentional irony, which is hysterical.
You know, I’ve never enjoyed a pitting of someone this much. I rarely enjoy pittings at all. But her persistent, clueless viciousness, and the fact that she’s old enough to know better, just really makes this satisfying. I have no desire at all to even try to understand her perspective, which is not how I usually roll.
I mean, there’s a couple threads I am not bringing up because she was so mean to people I don’t want to drag it up again.
