Once and for all, links or patties?
Me? Links all the way. I like the peel of the skin against my teeth, and the taste of grease. Patties tend to be dry unless there’s an exceptional cook in the kitchen.
Your choice?

Love 'em both. Line 'em up and I’ll put them away.
(But I do agree with the joy of biting into the link.)
Patties are less annoying to cook. But besides that, I’m ok with either, or both.
Links rock!
But, I love those JD patties, too!

links. Definitely. Not the brown and serve, just the ones with the thin skin.
Like them both. I guess I’ll go with links given the choice.
Links are my favorite. Tennessee Pride links are what we buy.
I’ll eat either, but good sausage around here is almost always in patty form, especially the spicy variety. I only cook patties.
Grew up with Jones Brothers links, so links are still my preference.
I’ll mention that even though I like links a lot of them are now made with collagen and synthetic casings that don’t agree with me. I’ve been making my own sausage recently and I had to use the synthetic casings but even if I had natural casings I’d still mostly make patties just because it’s so much easier.
I like them both, but I generally prefer patties for the larger surface area you can brown. I assume we are talking only breakfast sausages here.
Same here. A properly cooked patty has lightly crunchy browned top and bottom that add flavor and texture components that I’ve never observed in a link. A good link is wonderful, but a good patty is heavenly.
Links. Unless, of course, we’re making a breakfast sandwich.
Links for mouth feel, patties for flavor, but both always totally acceptable.
Links, if I had to choose. Patties are a perfectly fine substitute, though. I’d never say no to a patty.
I had breakfast in a Bay Ridge diner this very morning and got links. In NYC you always get either thin links or big fat ones (sometimes split). The only time I’ve ever gotten patties when I ordered the side of sausage I was on the wrong side of the Hudson River.
Preach it, brutha’. The caramelization from all the extra sq. inches(or so it seems) is what it’s all about. I swear I just got a whiff of…
Off to brekkie, gotta’ run.
Patties, generally. But links are OK.
Patties for putting in sandwiches or other dishes. Links for simply eating.
