LinusK and his "Tax on Labor"

In this thread, LinusK has been bloviating about how wrong he thinks it is that rich people can invest money and obtain a return on that investment, without “earning” it.

Why the Pit?

Because he’s been “Just Asking Questions” for some time, without ever learning from what has been explained to him. He asks a question. It is answered. Oh, but wait, he asks again. It is explained again, in some detail. Aha! he says, and asks the same damned question again. He shows no perception, no education, no engagement. It’s like lekatt and God. He has one point to make, and only one, and he will make it over and over again, without any meaningful interaction with people who have shown him wrong.

This is the sort of behavior we have come to associate with creationists.

There’s a technical term around here for someone who does this. I hurl the accusation.

(Hmph. I don’t start many Pit threads, but this guy is getting to me.)

Except for the different forum rules isn’t that thread pretty much a pitting of LinusK already?

Note as well that this has metastasized on to other threads.

I think the joke is on us. For example, I replied several times to LinusK, before realizing I’d previously refuted the point being put to me again.

The biggest disgrace is that he dares to share his first name with the beloved and intelligent Peanuts character Linus Van Pelt.

PRATT.

See also Gish Gallop.

If Peanuts characters could grow up, Linus would’ve grown up to be a Commie and you know it.

(Well, probably a “Christian Socialist,” in his case.)

You must admit that Clothahump is even worse in this regard, though less voluble.

Yeah, but Clothy never reads any of the posts that refute his (invariably conclusory, unsupported) assertions.

Or at least he never acknowledges them.

Even the communists recognized that labor is not the ONLY factor of production.

Coo! I knew about the Gish Gallop (I have had the joy of witnessing one in person, at one of his staged “creation-evolution debate” hoaxes.) But I didn’t know about the PRATT. I learned something. Profit!

(And completely unearned!)
