"Lio" comic in the Chicago Tribune

The Chicago Tribune just dropped the “Lio” Sunday page. Mark Tatulli (author of the comic strips “Heart of the City”, and “Lio”) asks his readers to write to the editor.

If you like the comic, tell’em you want it back! Or if you don’t like it, tell’em good riddance. This isn’t a solicitation, I’m not affiliated. I’ve just noticed the line “If you are in the Chicago area or know people in the Chicago area”. Why yes, I happen to know a forum for that, so here you go.

This move (dropping the comic) was total bullshit. On the front page of this Sunday’s comics, they advertised the “new and improved!” broadsheet version, saying “comics are now larger and easier to read!” They didn’t bother to mention that they eliminated several strips.

The Washington Post has been dropping comics too, disappointingly.

“Lio” is still around, though. Today’s gag was that Lio had a monster with him.

Not on Sundays, though. :frowning: You could probably throw a dart at the Sunday comics and find something far more deserving to get the axe.

Sunday’s gag was that Lio had a monster with him.
