C’mon, now - that is a bit over the top, especially in the Pit of all places. I’m fairly certain this has less to do with Cervaise stirring shit and piling on, than in being pissed that a friend of his is being dumped on for what looks like ( to some at least, including me ) a pretty trivial offence. Why shouldn’t he vent?
Oh, puh-leeze. Cisco’s description of the post in question was exactly, completely, precisely on point.
Oh, yeah, and we’re all so phenomenally happy you’re back, too, right?
Listen. If that was the only thing I’d ever said on this ridiculously tired subject, if there were no context for it, you and the pointlessly serrated Cisco might have an argument. But that is not the case. Various slopeheaded knuckledraggers have had it in for lissener for years, and keep posting idiotically repetitive threads like this, trying to call him out, and levying the same paper-thin insults against him (“video store clerk! haw haw haw”). And I sometimes – not always, but often enough – respond, at greater or lesser length, with dismissals and/or insults in return. Why? Because lissener is an off-board friend, and this protracted campaign against him by a small cadre of dumbshits is infuriating and idiotic. It smacks of high-school cliquism, like the hooting primates have sniffed themselves a possible outsider, whom they will relentlessly persecute for no other reason than their own amusement combined with a hard-wired bestial impulse for homogenizing the herd. Not to mention, the OP has demonstrated himself to be a shallow-thinking, short-sighted fool on many previous occasions, which I have called out. This display merely combines two of my pet irritations, so I was doubly obliged to respond. And if you have neither the interest nor the memory to recognize that this was not an empty piling-on gesture but rather one more in an ongoing back-and-forth volley going back a while, well, that’s your own failing.
So go fuck yourselves.
I’m an oxymoron!
And you’re a douche! I’m pretty sure racial slurs are not even allowed in the Pit.
Oh, you just don’t want to believe that Henry Rollins might be gay or bisexual. And it’s not like Rollins and lissener had a “heart-to-heart” talk about sexuality. Someone lissener’s known for 25 years told him he had sex with Rollins and lissener believes him. That’s all lissener said about Rollins’s sexuality, in a thread about gays, no less. It was personal anecdotal evidence, which may just equal gossip, but it wasn’t fucking Great Debates, where lissener has to provide an iron-clad cite.
That’s a great story!
Where is there a racial slur?
Unless your race is Neanderthal, I’m pretty sure those weren’t.
Agreed!
Because you strike me as a reasonable and intelligent person, I am willing to entertain—for the very first time, and tentatively—that **lissener **may not be as much of a douche in real life as he has been, consistently, on this board.
Cut the shit, slopehead is an extremely well-known racial slur.

Cut the shit? I don’t know Cervaise in real life at all, but here he seems to be rather enlightened and not the type of stoop to racial epitaphs. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I’d say he was referring to (like Q.E.D. said) to the characteristics of a Neanderthal.
Stop reaching.
Are you Asian? Does Cervaise think you’re Asian? No? Then stuff it, you whiny douchebag.
“Reaching” would’ve taken longer than 10 minutes to pick through his post for something to “pin” on him. Slopehead jumped out at me immediately the same way any offensive slur that is against the rules here would.
Do you have reason to believe Cervaise was talking to me? And if he was, would it matter what color I am?
Well, yeah.
Christ, just shut up.
He used the term in conjunction with knuckledragger. It’s pretty obvious he was going for Neanderthal imagery and not any sort of slur against Asians.
I don’t really know much about lissener, but I’m confused why it’s so hard to believe that he has met famous people? Is he saying he’s buds with all of them?
I was a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas for a few years, seeing celebrities isn’t a rare thing in some places. I’ve served drinks to quite a few of them (I mentioned some in the post in another forum). Some only gave me their orders and I moved on. Some of them were a chatty. Big deal.
One of my dearest friends is a concierge at a casino and has, over the years, come to have a friendly relationship with a few celebrities. He attended the wedding of one who is one of the top female recording artists, they are friends. Not best friends, friends. Why is it so hard to believe that lissener is friends with David Sedaris? He’s definitely my favorite author, but not even really a household name.
PS - I met Henry Rollins and had the punishment of him sitting in the VIP section when I was working there. He is easily one of the rudest and jerkish PEOPLE I’ve ever met, let alone celebrities. I have no idea if he’s gay or straight, but I can firmly say he’s an asshole.
I get that ‘slope eyed’ would be a racial epitaph, I get that ‘slope’ in some contexts would be as well - but seeing ‘slopehead’ seems to me to be a Neanderthal-type reference.
