Literary discussion boards

I have searched using google but have come short on my searches for some sort of discussion board for books, short stories or poems. I would like to find some various message boards to discuss books (ultimately SF/F) or short stories in particular. I have found only two or three possible message boards, but they are limited and on a more broad spectrum. The three I have found are:

A SF&F forum on a message board dedicated to Everquest and several other MMORPGS, not a bad site really, I have only discovered it today, but it is not really what I am looking for.

Unaboard has a good Arts and Entertainment forum that is pretty close to what I am looking for, but again, not quite.

And FFF has a good Humanities forum that is nice to read and dicsuss things, but seems not very used. (I am a bit board shy, and I don’t feel confident to start loads of topics myself)

So my question is; what boards are out there dedicated just to literary review and critique. For example, if I wanted to discuss some Star Wars books I would head over to Say… starwars.com or a google search reveals several sites. Or If I wanted to discuss or read some things on The lord of the Rings Trilogy, I would go to Tolkienonline.com or a site similar. But I have not found one for say, Dune, or flowers for algernon, or some of Asimovs books, or even some of the classics like Paradise lost (I could almost use a Paradise lost for dummies site for that one…hehe). So is there any out there? Or am I condemed to forever search the web for individule books or Authors?

[sub]I would really like to find a board dedicated to just Science Fiction or Fantasy, but any would do just fine[/sub]

I don’t have any personal experience with any of these, but FWIW here they are.

What kind of Google searches are you doing? Try using the words “powered vBulletin”, “message board”, “powered UBB”, “powered Infopop”, along with “science fiction fantasy” or whatever. See what comes up.

Sometimes you just have to rummage.

You might want to try SFF.NET. It’s the a great place for science fiction, with discussions of books and authors (many with the authors themselves involved). You can join (for a fee) to get everything, but a lot of the discussion groups are free to everyone.

There are also the rec.arts.sf Usenet Newsgroups. You can access them via Google.

Thanks! DDG: That helps alot, I ran Powered Vbulletin and science fiction fantasy and bam, hundreds of hits. I will have to try some of the other combinations and check out the hits that I got, but from what it looks like it is perfect.

RC: Sff.net looks great, I browsed it just briefly, but it looked good enough to make it to my bookmarks  I’m a bit poor so I probably won’t be able to pay to join, but from the sounds of it, I will find what I am looking for without paying.
