Little Hitlers taken from home - Campbell family tragedy

Apple and Moxie Crime Fighter, I’m looking at YOUR parents.

The story I read didn’t say that there were no reports of abuse, but the police refused to discuss why they were removed. My guess is that putting themselves in the limelight brought attention to something other than their horrible name choices, and they’re now reaping what they’ve sowed. Sort of like how in the early 90s the parents of one of my brother’s classmates called the police to report a robbery, and were then shocked to be arrested once the police noticed the basement full of pot plants they’d been growing.

Is it OK if I experience some schadenfreude?

What with confidentiality, it would be pretty bad for anyone official associated with the case to make a specific statement until it becomes a matter of public record.

Before everyone goes off the deep end about the kids being taken away because of their names, that is not evidently the reason.

From this story:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2009/01/14/national/a064131S66.DTL&tsp=1

“A spokeswoman for the state Division of Youth and Family Services, Kate Bernyk, said she would not comment on any specific case, but she said the state would not remove children from a home simply because of their names.

Exactly, the names were just the icing on the cake. Which is where the whole sorry mess started…for the public. For the kids it will have started a lot earlier.

Let’s not gloat at the expense of these nice volk.

Vot is diss, you sweinhunds!!!

There’s supposed to be a hearing tomorrow. Presumably, we’ll know more after that.

One of the articles I read about this said that the wrong Campbell got a death threat intended for Heath, the kids’ father. I’m guessing the kids were removed to ensure their safety against an external threat.

I figured there had to be more to it than that. Is this a case of Post Hoc Ergo Procter Hoc or whatever the Latin phrase is?

I feel sorry for the kids…that is who will suffer

If I was little Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, I’d be plotting my revenge right now.

What about the hundreds of other parents that do this? What about the guy who’s kid was kidnapped by some man and the boy stayed with him till he was a teen. What was it like a week later the parents were on Oprah.

If the parents are making a bid for attention they certainly are not alone. As for makig the kid stand out. Well just use a nickname. Certainly children of off beat or lesser known religions stand out. Poor kids stand out with their shabby clothes.

Am I the only one who cringed when I read that line from the comment section you quoted?

Jew might be getting oversensitive about this. It’s perfectly allreich.

Do not feed the child any beans. The last thing we need in this world is another Adolf Hitler with a lot of gas.

(Sorry, did that cross the Maginot Line?)

But I thought this whole mess began precisely because they couldn’t have their cake. :dubious:

Yaaaaayyyyyyy! Appreciated at last.

Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here for the full panto season! *

The funny thing is that in Germany they would never have been allowed to name their kids Adolf Hitler, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, and Honszlynn Hinnler. So maybe the comment is not as stupid as it first appears to be?
