Little things that remind you how young you're not

I started a PhD program last fall, after more than a few years working as an engineer. In the first week, I met a guy, also new to the school, who had done his undergrad at a school I had attended as a part-time masters student. He was about five years younger than me, but we talked for a couple of minutes about the school and the city before he had to run. After that, I didn’t see him at any of the grad student orientation/social events. A week later I found out why.

He was a new professor.

Finding out today that AARP is sponsoring the Foreigner concert tour.

I’ll just go curl up in my corner and die now.

You think I’m kidding, don’t you? You think I’d make something like this up?

OMG. That is terrible. OMG.

I may need to lay down.

I just mentioned the Foreigner tour to a guy here at work. He told me about a recent conversation with his wife:

“The other day, I saw a video by Def Leppard. I remember seeing them at the Civic Center.”
“Um, I was in middle school then.”

My husband (34) quite often sneezes and ruins his shoulder for the rest of the day. Bless him
