Well, Maureen, it could easily be the traffic on 101. It’s enough to make Mother Theresa go postal and that’s on a good day! And it’s not like the weather has been cooperating much either. Cripes, like I was saying over in the It is 27 deg C on my balcony!!! thread; It’s been so hot lately, I’ve taken up studying Bush’s foreign policy just to feel my blood run cold!
However, I’ll have to agree with you overall. There has been a dramatic shift towards fairly vicious personal attacks on people happening at these boards. Certain clowns around here have accused me of sycophantic (psychophantic, more like) behavior because I try to focus on being supportive instead of the usual sniping. I’ll cherish that reputation before I fall in with all those vipers. Catch me being mean without reason and I’ll send you a prize. I’m fed up with all the nastiness and vitriol.
If Dopers are irritable lately, I’m even more glad that I stay out of the Pit. Flamefests are not my idea of fun.
For that matter, neither is 100 degree heat. I just went to weather.com for a local forecast, and there’s an extreme heat advisory for our area! :eek: I am SO glad we have a pool! Now, if only we had A/C…
I’ve been very “touchy” this week, but MY explanation is that it’s the “wrong time of the month” rather than the weather. So hopefully, I’ll be back to normal soon. Er, uh, what passes for “normal” in my case, that is.
