I often find myself thinking about little things that I would love to be able to wish for. I’m not thinking big things like world peace or a million dollars. More like wishing that i would never get stopped by a red light again, or I could eat pizza every day and be perfectly healthy and slim.
But my go-to, single little wish is that that no bug would ever get within 4 inches of me again. I spend a lot of time outside, so if i had some force field that kept mosquitos, chiggers, ticks, gnats, flies, etc from getting on me, i’d be a far happier and less itchy person. (the various bug sprays are icky and just barely better than nothing)
Anybody else have little wishes?
I’d like to get the ‘perfect’ haircut, and never have to go to a barber/salon again. I just hate the experience. About the same as going to the dentist, but you’re expected to make small talk.
I wish that I could take my best hair day and freeze it. No more washing, brushing, conditioner - just perfect hair, forever. Small, but cool. Also, eating chocolate chip muffins for breakfast would rock. In reality, too many carbs too early makes my bloodsugar crash and I need a 3 hour nap.
More generally, I hate all the cyclical things in life. You wash dishes, you put them away, you use them - time to wash them again! You shave, then you need to shave again. You do laundry, only to make more. You dust all your surfaces, knowing even a few seconds after you finish they’ll be a little bit dirtier. Scrubbing toilets. Changing sheets. Filling up gas. Even eating. A significant chunk of everyone’s lives is spent on mindless tasks they’ll have to do again and again and again and again. Just being able to do something once and have it be permanent.
Yes, all of these! Why can’t every little task, once done, stay done?
On this theme, I wish that I could clean the bathroom – everything, floor, shower, toilet, cabinet, counter, sink – and it would stay that way forever, no matter how much use it got. I don’t mind cleaning the kitchen, washing the dishes, etc., but I’d love to never have to clean a bathroom again.
