I like the idea but in all honesty, casting your part will be difficult.
(Thunderbirds.) Sigh. I was afraid of that. (And, me too! I also really loved “Super Car,” mostly for the robot with the transparent head. Darn cute!)
This would be Exhibit A of my reasons for not particularly wanting live-action versions of cartoons I like. Another reason would be that the art style of a cartoon is often an important factor in my enjoyment of it. Would a Samurai Jack movie really be Samurai Jack without that distinctive style?
That said, I’m willing to grant that some cartoon->live adaptations could work. The Jonny Quest fans in the thread have a point; it is probably one of the cartoons most amenable to such an adaptation.
They would never do it right. The studio would ‘suggest’/demand completely incompatible actors. Like a fat comedian as Rusty, and making him a really funny guy. And playing the whole thing as over the top camp.
Has Simon Pegg ever managed a decent American accent? I could see him as Rusty.
Can we drag Sean Connery out of retirement to play Colonel Gentleman?
Lee Majors as Steve Summers?
No idea who could play Jonas Jr.
