Live Foaling Cam

I’m finally in the right place at the right time and they have the camera set to jump from mare to mare, grrr. Very irritating.

woman just came in to check Lady’s teats. That little girl seems restless.

Ha! Sarenia was all excited, pacing up and down the front of her stall, looking out expectantly. A human came, put a lead rope on, and took her out.

And Stella stayed behind! Another human had to come in, pursue her for a bit, make a human wall toward the open door, and finally push her little butt out. Then she trotted off out of sight after mom.

I’d noticed previously that Stella seems to spend a fair amount of time standing some distance away from mom. Independent little cuss, isn’t she?

ETA: Stalls are empty at Sonesta, Silver Creek, and True Colours – clean and ready but nobody home. Still nothing happening at Pacific Pintos.

Holy cow, the barn at Silver Creek is many time fancier than my house.

Not that we really need any more of these, but - meet Moka!

pretty mare - and I like the ones with nice cams like this

That is a good camera! It looks like she might foal pretty soon, too: “Moka is back inside and on cam 1 with more wax and mushy poo.”

Oh, great, just what I needed, another time-sucker.

Silver Creek is beautiful! I wonder what they’re bedding on? I wish they’d have info about the mare.

Some info on the mare, LaDeDa, at the Mare Stare message board. She’s not listed among the Silver Creek broodmares, so perhaps she belongs to someone who sent her there for foaling and rebreeding to one of their studs?

Ha! Silver Creek has a Second cam working! That mare, Athena, is also not in the website list of broodies.

Hey! If you go through the list of public cams at Mare Stare, and type any of the active names into the alias in the URL of a cam you’re already watching, you can get into other live camcasts. That’s how I got into Maple Creek Arabians without having to download the software from the MareStare site.

She just had her tail wrapped. In blue, not pink.

Awwwwwwww Moka’s human is outside her stall now, just hanging with her, loving on her. Moka’s eating it up in her placed way.

Here’s video of Moon and her baby.Look at that baby move! And see how excited all the other horses are! I don’t think Moon wants her baby close to the fence.

StG

Moon is strikingly beautiful.

Barry is one weird little horse. Mandy pee’d and then Barry smelled it. Then he did that thing again where he lifts his head way up and opens his lips so his teeth are showing. Then he tried to hump Mandy’s side.

Wow… gorgeous! That sure made my morning! Love the Appaloosa in the other pasture too!

Update from Elements Arabians regarding Moka: “I can’t believe she hasn’t foaled yet!!! Milk all over legs!”

I’ve been watching her a bit this morning, and she is looking a bit uncomfortable, with some stamping and restlessness. Right now they are cleaning her stall, so she’s been taken out.

No, Barry is a proper little man, baby!

What he was doing is called the flehmen response.

And why might stud-to-be Barry be displaying the flehmen response? Why, most likely it’s Mandy’s foal heat: “It is the time 7 to 11 days after foaling that the mare is receptive to the stallion and will stand for breeding. Some mares will show foal heat as early as 1 to 2 days. Ovulation usually occurs on the eighth to twelfth day after foaling. Some mares may not show the behavioral signs of being in heat at this time due in part to being protective of the newborn foal. However, a very high percentage of mares will develop follicles and ovulate.”

Oh my gosh! That’s just too cute for words! And I love the horse that looks like a dalmation. I’ve never seen one colored like that before.

Hah! Just got to see Barry do the teeth thing - too funny!
