Latest Tweet from Pacific Pintos:
Well while we’re waiting for the moms-to-be, check out Molly the Barn Owl in living color with sound. She has 4 healthy owlets and a pantry full of dead rodents to feed them.
Is that a teeny tiny unhatched egg I see there? I wonder if it’s a dud.
Hancock Wildlife Foundation - Hancock Wildlife Foundation This is a local eagle cam that I’ve been following for a few years.
floaty is this the nest where the raven stole the egg the other day?
I’m having trouble getting some of the cameras to load. Anybody else?
StG
all the ones I’ve tried so far have been fine - must be you!
…or maybe I’m just special, which is quite possible… ![]()
Athena’s lying down but it looks like she’s just sleeping. Moka, LaDeDa, and Lady are all just chillin.
Yes!
Yes, this last egg never hatched and is not viable.
Status as of quarter past 10:00 a.m. – Moka’s out again. Athena, LaDeDa and the three Pacific Pinto beach balls all look bored with waiting but uninterested in going through with resolving it any time soon.
I just saw Barry do something I had no idea horses would do. Mandy peed, then Barry did his sniff, sniff, face in the air thing, pawed at it a bit then peed on it like a dominant dog.
Hah! Barry appears to be trying to eat the camera. He’s a hoot.
ETA: Tea-Bao is cavorting like a little mad man. He’s kicking up his rear legs - which are still cow-hocked, BTW.
Moka had her foal!!! It’s a colt! With at least one white hind foot, it would appear. ETA: yes, right hind anklet.
The Tweet on the cam page is as of 21 minute ago, and the Mare Stare thread indicates it happened at quarter of noon.
Ah. Now there are two women in the stall and the baby’;s up on its wobbly feet. Sniffing noses with mom. It’s got a wee star.
They’re just getting latch on with Moka’s foal; I wonder if the time on the Mare Stare board is as of Colorado, the Elements farm time zone, or the Midwest, or wherever Mare Stare is located.
On Pacific Pinto’s cams, number 2, Cloud is looking restless, pacing in circles.
I called Cloud’s owner, Joanne, on her cell phone, to let her know about Cloud. She’s glad I did, is headed in from the fields now. Said they have four or five more term mares they need to get into foaling stalls; are moving China and Tea-Bao out to make room for one.
Blast! I stayed up all night, 2 nights in a row, for Moka. Then she goes and drops her foal in the middle of the day!
Mozeltov!
Well, hang around; Cloud may pop pretty soon.
Pacific Pintos has more due mares than cam coverage for them!
Ha! Moka’s colt wants to lie down but can’t quite figure out how to work the leg-folding to get there.
