Live Foaling Cam

Wow – up (however tenuously) already!

The second cam at Elements, Moka’s farm, is currently showing the outdoors shot of the mares and at the moment I can see six of them. Ah – one just wandered off camera. At night cam 2 was showing an overhead shot of a smaller stall than Moka’s foaling stall. Currently cam 1 is showing the field – a honkin’ huge field! – at the rear of the mare barn.

Nothing’s happening at Silver Creek; Barry’s bummed because Mandy moved jsut as he was about to grab a bite, and Pacific Pintos has the four-cam setup, with Lady and the wee baby in panel 4.

ET2: Aw, Lady and wee baby are both lying down to sleep in the same on-chest, curled position.

ETA: On the Elements cam2 shot, it appears that Moka and baby are outside, in an area next to the barn that’s fenced off from the field, so they can socialize without the other mares having access to littke Chino.

They just let Moka and her colt out of the barn paddock and into the field. You can see them in the distance on Cam1.

Ha! Just checked in on the Silver Creek mares. Each one has her head out her window.

Nakota’s in heat today, so the two weeks when she goes to the vet will be just about perfect. With luck, next year at this time I’ll have a baby of my own. Do I want a colt or a filly? Watching mareStare has made me more nervous about this, but more excited, too. It makes it seem more real.

StG

Way cool! I hope she settles on her first breeding.

Tonight, as of the wee hours, Athena at Silver Creek has her tail wrapped. It wasn’t when I looked in on her a few hours ago. She doesn’t seem unduly anxious, but…

She must have had it just before I looked in, because now there’s a colt in the stall with her. It doesn’t look like it can stand up yet.

According to the MareStare forum LaDeDa will be going pretty soon, too.

Well, well, at last we have, not a colt with a star, but a filly with a blaze. Who right now is flat out asleep with mom standing over her.

Damn, I went to bed at 3:00 a.m. and she must have had it within the next hour.

So glad it all worked out after that scare! Maybe we should call this one Phew, eh?

She’s got her tail wrapped now. Interesting; they don’t wrap the entire tail, just the top half to two-thirds.

Good gravy but her belly is huge! She was licking and chewing a little while ago; now she’s just standing there, one ear swivelling back and forth. Ah, just licked again. She’s not pawing or pacing but I get the feeling she’s about ready to pop.

Tiya at Maple Creek Arabians may be about to foal; she’s been lying down for quite a while and has started looking back at her flank.

ETA: And now back on her feet.

I can’t get any of them to load. It’s something to do with my connectivity. Well, they load, but then I keep getting the reload circular arrow and everything freezes.

StG

They’re all loading just fine for me so, yeh, it must be a problem on your end of the Intarpipes.

ETA: Mandy and Barry are being tormented by flies – look at that little boy’s tail go! Pacific Pintos has four stalls on rotation. LaDeDa is still holding it in.

This one looks about ready to go - El Bee at M&M Quarter Horses. The owners been expecting to her to foal for a few days now, and she’s pretty agitated at the moment.

Standing nose-in in a corner, flipping her head repeatedly.

ETA: I hope the adjust the Pacific Pinto cams – right now they’re jumping form stall to stall wicked fast, and number 1 isn’t appearing at all. Joanne’s in stall-cleaning; maybe when she’s done she’ll adjust the feed.

Hey, Centaur Farm has another mare on cam now – named Double Freeze. Tail’s not wrapped. Still a crappy feed.

Just posted on the Twitter feed below the cam:

Huh. Maybe it’s not you after all. I’ve been emailing with Joanne at Pacific Pintos and mentioned a cam freeze while watching her girls. She replied:

I called Joanne’s cellphone and left a message abut the cam feed; got this email back later:

LaDeDa just had a foal with a blaze and high white socks!
