Live Foaling Cam

Interesting read.

How about that Sunny Pines mare in the upper left? Too thin?

Centaur foal is up, all by himself.

Makes that “all by HERself.” So saith Mare Stare board.

Well, well. So if you’re a newbie to the Mare Stare board, your official title is “Fly Swatter” – as my first post, to the Centaur thread about Greetings under the nom de board of “Janicket”, reveals to me.

ETF - I think the lighting and the stripey shadows make it hard to get a good read on that girl’s condition. It does look like you can see her spine, but I doubt they’d have her on camera if they didn’t think she’d reflect well on them.

You guys have totally wrecked my life. All I do these days is wait and watch for little horses come out of big horses. :frowning:

Donkey at Poole’s is foaling NOW!!

Out and it’s a boy!

Hee! Excited humans, high-fiving. Very dark – black? – baby, ears all floppy.

I want a baby donkey! And a piglet.

And this morning the baby donkey is, if that’s possible, even MORE adorable.

Not much happening in the other cams, except the piglets are swarming mom.

Oh, and on the Wild Acres cam it’s a single screen of the mini Longhorn – and her new calf! Must have been born just a little while ago; there’s still afterbirth hanging from the cow.

Just received two emails from Mandy’s people. It was in response to my email sent a while ago.

Email one:

Hi Melissa…I believe someone else from your board called and asked us about our website…we have since fixed it THANKS to her calling. We did in fact have a HUGE virus that effected several business sites I host for friends as WELL as our rescue photo album. We have since had the hosting company go in and clean it up and we also have a blog that is sort of out of date but we are working on Mandy and Commanders story and also another rescue we had named George and our newest that came with mandy, Scout. We will have those updated over the next week or two…also, we finally let them out but due to the change in fencing and structure of the barn AND the fact that he kept eating the camera we had to take it down but WILL be putting it back up today or tomorrow hopefully!

And two:

Oops, the blog site is floridarescuetails.org and he has also mellowed out QUITE a bit since he has been able to run outside. I believe I actually read the ENTIRE mandy/barry thread the other night as I stumbled on it looking for another thread about another horse. Though, when he was born, I would have LOVED the name Barry, for Barry manilow, he has since proven to be NOT so mellow!!! LOL!!! Thanks for your eyes as they are GREATLY appreciated…as an FYI, we slept in the barn TWO days with Mandy when she started pacing and I was actually sitting about 10 feet from her when her water broke. I think someone on your board called us but they apparently didn’t realize I was RIGHT there!! We never left her side because when we WOULD leave the barn when she went into prelabor she was actually BANGING her knees on the stall wall and door creating welts on her legs and whinnying to the house. As soon as we would come into the barn she would stop. In an effort to keep her from hurting herself we opted to stay out there with her the whole time. She was only alone about 5 hours on Wednesday morning, the day she foaled….i thought the information would be helpful as I seem to remember some comments about some events that weren’t accurate and might have led to some ill feelings about the way we were doing things. Clarification always helps. Also, commander is under CLOSE supervision by his trainer. Commander will be trained for cutting, reigning, and other events as soon as he is three. The trainer will be working with him from now until then on his ground manners. Per HER instructions we used the “break away” halter specifically designed for newborns. She will be taking him to her house in about 6 months and we are following ALL of her instructions until then. She is an AWESOME trainer and is WELL known around here. When no one else can, SHE can!! She is also the MOST gentle horse handler I have EVER met…she understands them and speaks their language…you are MORE then welcome to post this as well on the board as the last email I just sent.

Thanks for passing those along! I will have to go take a look at the website now that it’s safe to do so.

In other news, I’m passing along more Elvis pastiche to Vicky at Bowman and Joanne at Pacific Pintos since they got a kick out of my first one:

It’s now or never, that foal won’t wait
Lie down, my darling, and parturate
Tomorrow will be too late
I"m going crazy! Don’t make me wait!

Sobe at Mulligan’s just had her foal!

I had just brought up her cam idly, as there were no alerts posted on marestare.
Sobe was lying on her side, obviously starting to contract pretty heavily. Her owner stepped into the stall with her and knelt down behind her just in time to catch the foal as it came popping out - easy, peasy!

And with all the dark mares we’ve seen having flashy foals lately, now we have flashy Sobe with the cutest little dark colt - no white to be seen!

Pacific Pintos just had a foal!

That stall at Belladonna looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days.

And I want an elephant. And an otter and a giraffe.

aw, I just checked that little one out - so cute! but then, they pretty much all are, aren’t they?

does that little guy have a medicine hat or is that just camera angle?

Cloud had a filly!

ETA: Not a medicine hat; the color runs down at least the right side of the filly’s face.

Mare’s down on her side at Silver Creek – sleeping or laboring?

Celeste at Pacific Pintos may foal soon. Joanne’s asking for people to keep an eye on her and has switched the cam feed from four-in-one to her stall only. At 28 inches, she’s Joanne’s smallest mare and will need help with the foaling.

I’m watching Celeste now and she does look restless and uncomfortable.

ETA: Joanne posted this at the Mare Stare board:

Some new links; will blend with edited old list later:

Gallo Scarpelli Arabians: Good quality; view through stall bars

Pinner Hill FArm: Daytime cam shows paddock in pasture. Tweet note ten days ago: “Heaven is due May 5, although she has a Volkswagen in there and my come a little sooner.” Yesterday: "Milk calcium is at 300. Showing some agitation and holding her tail up. We are expecting a foal very soon. "

Premier Friesians: Not great, but okay. Tweet from two hours ago: “Does anyone have a real big plunger? Cat’s enjoying the leaking milk. Maybe they’ve talked to the foal and made a deal?”
