wow, that was fast. I actually called, alerted the owner, she came to the stall within a couple of minutes, and within another 15 minutes the foal was OUT.
Oh, wow. The McGuire owner just posted this:
Oh yay - you saved 2 horsies’ lives. Go You!!
This morning CeCe at Silver Creek (cam 2) has her tail wrapped and they’ve put down straw, so they think she’s imminent.
CeCe’s foaling now – very slowly. Barbara’s called for help.
ETA: Another woman’s in now, both are pulling.
OUT!
Blaze faced and a BIG baby – no wonder CeCe needed help.
And it’s a filly. Wicked neat facial markings, it looks like, too.
Dang, I missed it. But what a little beauty she is!
Wow, she’s up on her feet already!
And for those of you who missed it, the birth was captured and will be posted for replay – check out the CeCe thread at Mare Stare.
ETA: Meanwhile, at Half ass Acres, a minidonk has just been born.
If horses and donkeys aren’t enough it appears there’s a slow-motion kidding of a mini goat going on at Phoenix Rising right now. What I’m seeing is an immensely pregnant little goat and a headless human sitting together in a stall.
I give up… been thru 3 pages multiple timess and can’t find CeCe’s cam.
Cassie’s bay filly with all the chrome is GORGEOUS!
Woot! Got another one going right now at Shady Nook – a cam I hadn’t even looked at before. Mare’s down, in labor, human sitting with her.
Here’s another new cam == S Bar P Minis, where the mare on cam has just had her tail wrapped. Current posting at the MS board: “Sapphire is very restless tonite… not her normal routine at all.”
ETA: Guy just came in to fluff up her bedding and add fresh straw.
Oh, dear. This may be colic, not labor, judging by (a) the thread about the mare at Mare Stare, and (b) how long she’s been down without progressing.
Right now the man in with her is on the phone.
She’s foaling now!
Pretty sure Sapphire is ready to go, she is up & down and straining.
Thanks for the link for CeCe & baby!
Am I the only one that wonders how some of ‘our’ past babies are doing? Kristie?Shaum? Barry? Squirmy?
Yes! Brand new horse.
Nakota was bred today. With luck, in 11 months we’ll see her in labor and delivery. It was a shade late - the semen was held up, it should’ve been delivered Saturday for Monday breeding, but she had a second follicle that was ready today.
StG
Oh, very cool StG!! Our very own DoperFoal!
Fingers & toes crossed!
