This is going to be an epic match-up between Lincecum and Lee. Can’t wait.
Let’s go Rangers!!

I saw Cliff Lee around town in Dallas the other day.

He was taking his dog for a strikeout

Glad Bengie got a good reception.

Living in the New York area has me saying:

punt Cablevision/Fox

I’ll be in the corner if you need me

First blood, Texas!

Nice play, Kinsler.

Good double plays all around.

Well, the Giants have made some headscratchingly dumb plays already (someone needs to remind Lincecum about the concept of a “run down”), but I am feeling surprisingly calm thus far. Maybe because my dad got called to an emergency work thing and is not here to freak out all over the place.

Who you’re watching with makes a huge difference, I find. Some people are so tense they make my teeth hurt.

Who knew that Cliff Lee could hit too?

Who knew he’d then forget how to pitch? :frowning:

True. Wonder what the hell happened?

He seems to have shaken it off, though. Whew!

I’m a Red Sox fan, so I don’t really have a dog in the fight. I’m rooting for San Fran, because I used to live there, and I like Lincecum. He looks like such a kid having fun … except when he’s making stupid plays in the field … but I digress.

I do think it’s important to note: Tim McCarver should be dragged out of the booth and beaten with a rubber hose until he promises to never speak into a microphone again.

As an ex-resident, you should KNOW how much we hate that abbreviation. We live in San FranCISCO; not San Fran, not Frisco. Only non-residents refer to it thus…
</rant>

Don’t saddle me with the “Frisco”. I’ve never uttered that in my life. I never got grief for San Fran. But while I was there, I would just refer to it as, “The City.” So I believe I can claim a little honor back.

And the Giants go ahead as Cliff Lee falters. < sigh >

For the record, I’ve decided to root for the Giants because they were my first favorite team, and the first major league game I attended in person was in Candlestick in 1969. And Willie McCovey hit a home run!

I can still name at least 2/3 of the Giants starting lineup that year. I only remember Frank Howard from my third major league game in Washington. So the Giants win the sentimental matchup.

“Frisco” worked pretty well written on the side of a cardboard box while hitch-hiking there. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve never heard anyone complain about that. I just did an informal poll of the people in the living room (my mom and my sister) and got a divided result. My sister thinks it sounds bad, my mom doesn’t care and says she’s never heard anyone complain about it. So I’m :dubious: that this is something “we” all hate.

But let’s talk about what’s actually important: THE GIANTS ARE AWESOME. 8-2. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

eta: re: “San Fran”. “Frisco”, of course, is totally unacceptable.
