Location

I agree with this pitting. In fact, it doesn’t go far enough. Everyone should be required to put their location in their username. It just makes perfect sense.
Yeah, right. Next you’ll want us to believe the Isle of Lucy is a real place too.
I’ve been waiting for someone to have Isles of Langerhans as theirs.

Also, thousands of American soldiers died for my right to not post a real location if I don’t want to- I’d be doing them a disservice to post it.
Well, I’m probably the only other person subscribing who even knows who Mike Bullard is (apart from maybe RickJay).
Listen noob, I know who Mike Bullard is, and think his efforts are a pale shadow of the greatness that was the Ralph Benmergui show.

Heck, people at CTV couldn’t believe they actually got paid a bonus when they foisted Dullard off on that other network.
… this isn’t the board for you.
I sooo heard Alec Guinness saying that.

I was going to post a well reasoned argument. But I’ll just say instead “You’re a pillock, leaffan

Most of the time the content of a person’s post tells me where they’re from. I don’t need them to explain.

I don’t make my location a secret. However, after reading Leaffan’s petulant frenzy, I’m tempted to hide it. I hope he saves a little fury for when he finds something deserving of his rage.

Wimpy pitting.
And just when we were all hoping for a pimpy witting, too!

My location is absolutely correct. If’n you don’t like it, you can come here and try to do something about it.

P.S. I do tell my location if my post or the OP requires it. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.
See, and for a while I had my actual location in the location field and I got PMs bitching that it was “inaccurate”.

Because my location said “Hicksville” and I had mentioned I work in NYC.

The authors of the PMs didn’t realize the name of my town is an actual name for a populous suburb of NYC and thought I was being all jokey and were irked at my jokey-ness.

So I gave up, left the damn thing blank, and Leaffan can just deal.
I was confused by your location originally, because there is a Hicksville here in Ohio about an hour north of me. I was wondering when the folks living there learned how to turn on a computer. :stuck_out_tongue:

My location is entirely accurate. Except when I’m at work.

Maybe I should change.

Boulevard of DEATH has a nice ring to it.
Well, I’m probably the only other person subscribing who even knows who Mike Bullard is (apart from maybe RickJay). So your post was a complete waste of board space.
I met Mike Bullard once. He’s just as unfunny in person as he is on TV.

Yeah but then we have posts like this.

And answers like this.

Brilliant. :frowning: **Why can’t drm ** at least provide some reference for location.
<snip>
Bolding mine. From the referenced post:
Mike Bullard is a total wanker…

He used to have a late night talk show in Canada<snip>
Again, bolding mine.

Perhaps the problem isn’t posters not referencing their location after all?

It’s a puzzle, just for you. Enjoy!

He did! He did TWO Dane Cook jokes!

If Dudley keeps it up, I’m going for the trifecta.

A few years ago I was at a family reunion in Canada (our family is of Scottish descent). One of my nephews brought his best friend, who was Jewish. When we were introducing him, I would either say that his family hailed from the “far flung Isles of Langerhans”, or else that his family descended from the MacCabee clan.

Okay, let’s do Brian Regan next. (He’s my favorite)

I passed this truck carrying logs the other day…

::super excited::

Why does SDMB bother to have location next to a person’s post?

You are my doppleganger. I work in Hicksville and live in NYC.

No, not really. I work in Jericho and used to live in NYC. Now I live in Elmont. And now Leaf knows so he can’t complain about me any more.

That’ll cost ya.

I don’t know where Carp, Canada is, but I certainly know where Basement, Northeast Division, NHL is.
