I have no comment on the story itself, but this caught my eye:

Twitter followers who saw the message tracked it to a San Jose, California, home, where police found a 48-year-old woman. The police took her into custody for a psychological evaluation, according to a police spokesman.

So, how do average “twitter followers” track and find other twits (people who tweet). It would make sense if the police contacted the service provider to get that info, but am intrigued how regular twits can find other twits, so quickly.
