Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels Question

Last night I watched Lock, Stock, and two smoking barrels last night and the ending kind of puzzled me. Eddie meets with his father JD in a car outside the police station and asks if there is anything connecting him (JD) to the murders of Harry and Barry.

Why would there be? There is no physical evidence connection JD to any of the crimes.

One of my all-time favorite movies! It’s been a while so I’m not sure about the details, but I assumed he was worried about being tied to the crimes via who he’d been seen with rather than concrete evidence. Say, if police ask around and find JD had been spotted in last week with 20 or so people who are all now dead from various incidents, surely that would raise a red flag. In the end, the only physical evidence is the guns (which they get rid of). My only complaint about the movie is the total lack of police presence anywhere (save for a Traffic Warden in the wrong place at the wrong time).

Well, Harry’s whole shakedown of JD’s son Eddie was to get the bar, and JD had recently been visited by Big Chris, who delivered the good news about Eddie’s debt. So it’s not too far-fetched to think that JD would be a bit worried…
