My whole question has to do with the end of the movie, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, stop reading this thread now. I don’t plan on using spoiler boxes because the entire thread would probably have to be in one. So anyway…
I watched Reservior Dogs again last night and the ending made me wonder, as it always does - who shot Eddie?
They are standing there and Joe draws on Mr. Orange who is bleeding to death, Mr. White draws on Joe, Eddie draws on Mr. White, Mr. Pink hides under the stairs. Everybody shots, everybody falls down. So who shot Eddie?
'At’s exactly how it went down, Quack. The first time I saw it, I went frame-by-frame, too. I thought it was damned appropriate for White to have so quick a shot.
I had the same question and also went frame-by-frame. While it was clear that White was supposed to shoot Eddie, it didn’t look like his point of aim changed much.
My other question was why did Orange just watch White shoot two cops? I know he wasn’t supposed to do anything until Joe showed up, but I can’t believe he would just watch.
From the IMDB (although not necessarily the bastion of all truth:
During the final scene shootout, Harvey Keitel was supposed to shoot Joe, then turn his gun and shoot Nice Guy Eddie. But he forgot to turn his gun so, on film, no one actually killed Eddie, but he went down anyway. Tarantino liked this and the film garnered a small cult following based on “Who Shot Nice Guy Eddie?”
