I never expected to see the Thanoscopter in the MCU, it’s just absolutely hilarious. It was dead on too.
I liked how in the battle of the Lokis, “our Loki” was able to more or less walk right through it because he knew what all of the other Lokis were going to do.
Again, I think there’s a lot to wrap up in this final hour - and I kind of want a season 2.
I think a season 2 is almost for sure. Its almost certainly King Loki as the big bad…though I want it to be Doom. Maybe King Loki is the Loki from the last incarnation of the Universe.
It’s been reported that season 2 will start production in January '22.
I really thought the big evil cloud was named “Goliath” not Alioth. And poor Throg!
I do think the ultimate antagonist will be a Loki, but was he banishing threats to the end of time or gathering an army until he’s ready to do… whatever and has a Loki army? I’m guessing the latter but having a pocket dimension of Lokis at the ready, angry and chaotic would be handy.
I like the references to Oz. Not just last episode’s Oz wasn’t really there, but the green doesn’t just reflect Loki but makes everything look like the Emerald City. I almost expected Loki and Sylvie to go through the portal via yellow brick road.
Speaking of the big evil cloud, is it safe to say that The Neverending Story is now part of the MCU?
Only dissappointment i had was I thought for sure when Classic Loki died, he would say something similar to “Forgive me Allfather…” or “Forgive me Thor”…something Classic Loki has done before when he was going to die
Edit: Also…the last MU Loki I paid attention to was his end in “Siege” but this has me wanting to follow up and follow his series or Kid Loki stuff
I’m not sure I enjoyed this episode very much. It had some fun performances in it, but it didn’t exactly scintillate with plot development. I liked last week’s better.
And, the jar had a label on it which, IIRC, read “T 365” – very likely a reference to issue 365 of the original run of the Thor comic book, in which Loki did, in fact, turn Thor into a frog.
YouTuber Everything Always has a pretty comprehensive video of Easter eggs and such from this last episode, for anyone that is interested.
On the one hand it’s utterly fascinating to see the level of thought and detail put into even fleeting moments of the MCU.
On the other hand, it’s like that video is being narrated by Comic Book Guy, both in voice and descriptive style, and I found it offputting.
The list of actors that could take one of the goofiest costumes in comic book history and make it look that bad ass is extremely small.
Was the car that Mobius was driving supposed to be an homage to the Pizza Planet truck? It shows up in everything else why not at the end of time, too?
I definitely thought it was.
Me, too.
and this was also referenced in Ragnarok -
Wild theory-the Big Bad will be a Kang-Variant who’s trying to thwart another him. The other him will be the enemy of the next few Marvel movies.
And is there a reason for Schmidt beer to exist in the MCU?
They’ve been dropping in obscure and/or defunct beverages throughout the series. Kid Loki was drinking a Hi-C Ecto Cooler juice box, and in a previous episode, Loki grabbed a box of Boku out of the hand of a TVA employee.
(I noticed the Schmidt can, and had flashbacks to collecting beer cans in the ‘70s. )
