Loki TV series discussion (spoilers)

I feel like I could have also been a reference to a situation Luke Wilson was in during Idiocracy. Hero character in a small bagged car except in Luke’s case there was a different thing flopping around on it…

the didlo?

We know Kang is going to be the bad guy in the next Ant-Man. Even though these shows are more connected to the movies now, I’m fairly sure they’re going to wait for the movie to actually introduce him.

How many episodes are we expecting for this season?

Next episode is the last one.

In this timeline, at least.

The one with 9 episodes got pruned.

It occurs to me-how was Alinoth beaten? By the seemingly impossible: two Lokis working together. If at the end they do have to face an Evil!Loki, perhaps that was their protection, since no one would believe it could happen.

Somebody upthread mentioned Easter Egg breakdowns and this channel is my favorite. I find them informative and fun to watch.

I mostly agree. The whole series is full of fun moments and interesting sequences, but there are a whole lot of moments where the characters just do whatever’s needed for the plot.

I’m really enjoying Loki and it’s shaping up to be the best of these first 3 TV shows. It’s basically taking the best of WandaVision and falcon and winter solder and mashing them together. I’m pretty excited for the finale next week.

My prediction is through the worm hole is utopia for Lokis run buy the first Loki and once Lokis improve themselves enough they get to go there. That’s why silver age loki was taken. Of course, paradise will have flaws and maybe MCU Loki will stage a coup which will set up season 2.

It’d be such horrible writing to introduce a completely unknown character in the very last episodes that I just don’t see it happening.

I think it’s going to end up being my favorite not because it’s BETTER than the other two for every second of every episode, but the other two ended weirdly and clearly had unfinished, awkward fixes due to covid. If they had finished as strongly as they started (Wanda’s weird last episode) or hadn’t dropped/rearranged a clearly vital story (Falcon’s plague plot), it’d probably be a 3-way tie.

I feel like that works for me - what we’re witnessing is not romantic love, but instead a bizarre form of self-infatuation

Ya. It’s not that they’re falling in love, it’s that they’re becoming friends. Which is a new and unusual thing for a Loki!

And they’re also learning to actually like themselves (I don’t know how to make the pronouns work and using proper names isn’t much better) which is also new for Lokis. There’s usually a lot of barely covered self-loathing.

speculation:

I think the inhabitant of the castle is going to be yet another Loki. It’s how the band of Lokis survive in the world - they know how to survive themselves.
Also - back to the very first episode where Loki said out the TVA was “an illusion … a cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate attempt at control.” and then he said that’s what he did repeatedly. It makes sense and is narratively fulfilling if this, too, is just another illusion by Loki.

So all the Kang stuff is a misdirect?

My WAG at this point is that Loki and Sylvie crushing on each other isn’t what caused the Nexus Point at all - instead, it happened because they’d both resigned themselves to dying there and then. Lokis survive, and they have Glorious Purpose. It doesn’t befit a Loki to die purposelessly.

Up to this point, we haven’t seen a Loki die willingly or meaninglessly - Sacred Timeline Loki is killed by Thanos in the act of protecting his fellow Asgardians, and the variants have managed to keep themselves alive by exploiting the loopholes in the TVA’s understanding of causality. Silver Age Loki is the only one we’ve seen who’s willingly sacrificed himself, and he does so in a place where it’s chronologically impossible to cause a Nexus Point, and did so in a way that allowed him to fulfill his Glorious Purpose.

No, they are just easter eggs for comic book readers, just there to get people excited but not relevant to the plot at all.

I’m expecting a no resolution at all. They’ll end it on a huge cliff hanger, to be resolved in another season or a movie.

A tease for the next season/movies, sure. Some questions left unanswered, sure. But I doubt it will be a huge cliffhanger. They didn’t do that with Wandavision or TFATWS.
