No Mephisto?
It was Agatha all along.
- The Coulson variant that didn’t get stabbed by Loki.
- Faux Pietro
No idea who, but I suspect they’ll be a front for Kang. Kinda like how Ronan, Loki, etc were all working for Thanos.
We might see who’s behind the curtain in a stinger, like in The Avengers.
My post-credit prediction is Moebius on a jet-ski then the camera pans in on him going all the way to subatomic level to reveal Kang in his quantum palace.
I knew there was a season 2 coming, but I wasn’t expecting a cliffhanger ending. Jonathan Majors, the actor who played He Who Remains, has been cast as Kang the Conqueror in the next Ant-Man movie, so I’m guessing that Kang is the variant of him who’s taken control of the TVA in the closing scene.
Poor Loki - he became a better person and even became capable of love and sacrifice, and still wound up failing.
Can I be honest and say that I’m only really watching Loki for the scenery and props in the TVA - that whole mid century/70s blend of retro-future aesthetic really works for me. The end titles are beautiful.
That was … okay. Not great but okay.
Renslayer was given what information by Miss Minutes and went where?
Is it implied that beyond the end of time is the beginning of time?
TVA 2.0 with variant Kang out front as in charge just makes clear why the facade of the Timekeepers was needless in the first place.
Loki not recognized? A reset of the multiverse in which Lokis either do not exist or at least never got to a Mobius level to be noticed …
I thought Majors did a bang-up job at the end and I’ll be interested to see how it goes next season.
I was excited enough to watch the finale that I just watched it rather than waiting until Friday. It met my expectations and is a nice set up for phase two. I need to go back and check out the Kang Easter eggs every one is talking about.
Very satisfying ending. The strike against it not being Kang was the secrecy required and we didn’t think Marvel would dedicate a finale on a guy we haven’t seen yet. Bravo for doing it
I do think they’ve kind of written themselves into a corner as far as what to do with everyone but Ravonna here on out.
Aldo so much for Chekovs Jet Ski
He’ll be in Ant-Man if not something before that. Ant-Man’s got his work cut out for him if he’s going to have infinite Kangs to find buttholes to climb into.
If I understand the time travel hijinks, correct as needed: the Kang they met is from 3100s. He forced the timeline via TVA that ensures he is the sole Kang to survive. Killing him in 2021 stops this by breaking the sacred timeline and he’s not around to then prune the rest, so they’re all created?
Comic Kang is at least 6 different versions, some heroic, some worse, so that will be interesting. I’m not familiar with Majors, but he seems to have a good acting range to portray them all.
We’ll probably get Loki season 2 before Ant Man, and that might end with a single Kang left over. Probably the worst one.
Has a date for season 2 been announced? Usually they have a carefully crafted release schedule. Surprised they announced so early, but a welcome surprise as this was easily my favorite of the three Disney+ shows.
They haven’t announced a date for season 2 but they have announced that Antman is not until 2023, I would hope we get season 2 of Loki in less than two years.
Wow! Surprise to see Kang (not a huge surprise, but I was expecting another Loki variant), but Majors did a great job with the character. Blowing up the timeline means that the MCU can get as wacky as the comics, potentially – anything can happen. Looking forward to see where they’ll be going next.
This was the wackiest, and I think the most fun, D+ MCU series yet. I think it’s because the actors they cast are so great at these characters – this sort of crazy story could have been a real bomb if the performances hadn’t sold it.
It’s not 2021 though. The date is…immaterial.
I found the finale a little talky overall, but with a strong twist at the end. My favorite bits of the series remain the Lamentis storyline - not just the development of the relationship but all the characters they meet along the way, the special effects (the image of the moon splitting in two has really stayed with me), and the moment their escape plan caught to naught was all great storytelling.
Nitpick: 3000s. 31st century.
2021 by MCU timeline, I think, because that’s the best frame of reference regardless of when the end of time is. Though maybe it’s 2012-2013 really, from Loki’s perspective.
