That’s what London Mayor Sadiq Khan said. He is a Muslim by the way.
Is this an outrage or did he have to say this to keep his political base?

Or is your question a false dilemma?
“He is a Muslim by the way.”
Am I supposed to conclude that he’s carrying out terrorist acts personally? And maybe his comment was intended as warning, a sort of “Brace yourself, because I’m going to blow you up personally, because I’m a MUSLIM!”?
That sounds reasonable.
He said that having to be prepared for terrorism is part and parcel of living in a big city. Small but critical difference. And he said it last year.
More recently he said there is “no reason to be alarmed” by increased police presence, not terror attacks. Were you confusing the two?
The bait has been taken. Did you know this:
Several European governments have made it clear to their citizens that criticizing European migrant policies or migrants is criminally off-limits and may lead to arrest, prosecution and even convictions. Although these practices constitute police state behavior, European governments do not stop there. They go still further, by ensuring that Islam, in general, is not criticized either.
I’m not a scholar of Islam, or Shira Law, which shockingly has 80+ courts in the UK, but you seldom if ever see a Muslim speak out against what they view as Jihad.
Any other major would not call this just part of living in a big city.
It’s an outrage and one that is not likely to stop in the UK.
I wonder why Sadiq Khan gets brought up by a certain element re recent terrorist atrocities, when Greater Manchester’s Mayor Andy Burnham doesn’t. I just can’t figure that out…
Did…did I just get Poe’s Law’d?
Not at all. By saying this, he’s giving in to terrorism, and acting like its just part of living in a big city.
No, it is not. Now he says there is no reason to be alarmed? What a load. The police can not stop these car/truck or knife attacks. They are at the mercy of the terrorists.
Here’s an idea. Pass a law that forbids the talk of terrorism on the web, then arrest hose who break it that are on the watch list.
Here’s the quote I read.
Sadiq Khan has said he believes the threat of terror attacks are “part and parcel of living in a big city” and encouraged Londoners to be vigilant to combat dangers.
Quoting a Trump tweet for an OP. LOL. What could possibly go wrong …
What the fuck has Donald Trup to do with the Mayor of London. “Who, by the way, is a Muslim”,
Utterly infantile and absurd period in politics.
This is all completely true. I was in Europe earlier this year. I had to say “Allāhu Akbar” three times and sound like I meant it before I was allowed in. The third time I was saying it I kind of hesitated a bit and they threatened me with re-education and deportation but I pleaded with them by getting on my knees and praising Allah effusively and they let it go.
After the recent attacks in London (which is now 90% Muslim now, you seldom see a white face and all the churches have been converted to mosques) almost the whole population was out on the streets cheering about the death of the infidels. I saw it with my own eyes.
Did you notice how they were slow to release the name of the third attacker? That’s because it took them some time to pull the strings necessary to cover up the fact that the third attacker was actually the mayor of London, who escaped but they substituted in the body of someone else.
That’s where you started to go wrong.
I’ve lived in several large American cities. I will cheerfully admit that crime is part and parcel of living in a big city. I would advise anyone moving to the city to be aware of that, and practice appropriate precautions. Would this be an outrage? Would this make me pro-crime? Of course not.
So when the Mayor of London said the city should be prepared for terrorism, he was actually giving in to terrorism. You want proof? He’s a Muslim.
“Great Debates” may not be the appropriate forum for this thread. We need to start a forum for “Debates That Sounded Better When I Said Them In My Head”.
Joking about the matter won’t help. What the mayor said should not be defended.
By the way, could you imagine 80+ courts of Shira law in an area the size of a state in the USA?
You are against the principles of Shira law, are you not? Not answering this question tells me everything I need to know.
I agree. I’m not joking. This is serious.
Sharia, not Shira. Councils, not courts.
[QUOTE=fullfact.org]
Most are Sharia ‘councils’ set up to make decisions on purely religious matters, although there are some bodies that mix Sharia principles with legally binding arbitration. But none can overrule the regular courts.

So yes, there are issues, but we’re so far from being an Islamic state that the mere suggestion is risible.
By saying the third attacker was the mayor, yes you are joking on a serous topic.
I’ll ask you again, are you against the principles of Sharia law, or not?
By suggesting that by stating that terrorism is a part of the state of the world today that the MUSLIM MUSLIM MUSLIM mayor is supporting terrorism, you are attempting to take a laughable claim seriously.
Or to put it another way, you have yet to establish that there is a molehill in existence for you to make a mountain of.
If the state legal allows abortion, what power do they have over a Sharia council to say otherwise?
What other form of terrorism is doing more damage in the UK? Also it is important to note the mayor of London is WRONG. Many cities have zero terrorism in them as they have a very small or no Muslim population. So for them, this is NOT part of life even though they are a large city.
Yes, there are various forms of it, but we all know what the main problem is.
