There you are wrong :)) I just got to London yesterday and am heading out to St. Albans today. Having researched my options a bit more I am now leaning towards finding a place in St. Albans - slightly more space for the same rent as in London and less money getting to and back from work. I’m booked into a B&B till the 27th so hopefully have a place by then

Just be warned that your travel (and going out) options will be far more limited. With London you’re not really paying for space, you’re paying to be in the city.

(Although i think that the last train to St Albans from St Pancras goes about 1am, so its not too bad)

I am aware of the limited travel options. I enquired about a monthly seasonal ticket from West Hampstead to Luton Airport and it is going to cost me 275GBP, adding in daily travel on tube/bus and I am up to 100GBP weekly just for travel. When I combine that with the the rents I have been finding I would be living in London but have no money left for food, etc :frowning: (my only option would be to find a somewhat cheap flatshare which I haven’t sofar)

Therefore I have set my sights on St. Albans which still has plenty of pubs (though none gay) and just do London on the weekends.

I’m counting on being there then on the 25th

Well I’m sorely sorry that I won’t be able to make it, sounds like it’ll be a fun dopefest. Hopefully with summer fast approaching people will be up for another one relatively soon afterwards with me in attendance. Try not to miss me too much y’all.

I’m in. Charing Cross is good for me, and so is Samuel Smith’s. Um, how do Dopers recognise each other in CX pubs on a Friday night? I will be recognisable confused, if that helps.

BTW, sign would be good, or just look for the confused looking guy in the pub, staring strangely at random tables.
