LonDope in April?

Well, I probably be there from 6pm onwards at least.

Look for the Cat in a Suit in a 3/4 length Leather Coat.

Also looking lost

Wait, there’s chocolate cake? Not that I was planning to give it a miss anyway, but chocolate cake is just the… er… icing on the cake, if you will. I’ll probably be there 6:30ish.

How big is this place? Is is a wander-about-for-hours-before-dying-of-exposure-to-the-elements or a inhale-too-deeply-and-the-building-explodes kind of pub?

ETA: Could someone post the address of the pub? I’d like to be able to find it without too much blundering around, and there seems to be more than one Chandos in the general area.

Its this one. And there should be chocolate cake, provided I’m not too lazy to make it… And I can be there from about 6pm too, was just thinking about those who had slightly further to travel…

The Chandos, 29 St. Martins Lane, London, WC2N 4ER

Right, i Should get there about 6pm or slightly before.

As usual, in the words of Crusoe, i will look like a dodgy used car salesman.

A bald dodgy used car salesman at that…

BTW Garius, you going to cross-post this to NADS?

I should be around, barring act of London transport/last minute project woes.

So we’re all go for Friday then. Who wants to be on cake protecting duty?

Friday, 1800ish, The Chandos.

I’m the guy with glasses with the Canadian accent.

I’d do it, but then who’d protect it from ME?

Erm… Good question… This could get recursive… Maybe the cake doesn’t need protecting…

And here was me thinking cakes were for eating. If the cake survives the night, we have done something wrong.

The cake won’t survive. Trust me. I mean, I know that a group of 10 astronomers will finish that cake in less than 15 minutes. The cake will be on borrowed time from when it comes out of the oven…

I’m slightly impressed that you think the cake will survive in the Chandos on a friday night. The place will be rammed until gone 8pm at least.

I suggest that we aim to be upstairs by the far left of the bar. I’m happy to chuck peeps my mobile number if it helps (just email me).

I’ve taken cake into the Chandos on a Friday night before… It survived. If you call being devoured by grad students surviving that is… :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you mean the sort of enclosed space near the back or the bit with the sofas?

i was thinking the sort of curvey, semi enclosed bit right at the end, bar-side of the door to the downstairs.

Ah OK. I get where you mean.

See you in a few hours then!

I have an excuse to run down into London - so I’ll make the effort to amble down from Cambridge Circus and say hi.

'Cos I can.

I’ll probably be looking for the sign. Or the cake.

Well, it was a pleasure to meet all and sundry and I look forward to doing it again in a few months.

Likewise! Although I seem to have a headache today…
