Long Road Trips in the MMP

Howdy Y’all! Today I shopped for provisions, stowed 'em away, read more CDI stuff (MetalMouse, it got stoopid again and then got better again), futzed about and made sup which consisted of grilled salmon, steamed broccoli, wild rice, and rolls. I even made a remoulade sauce. Go Me!

Happy Anniversary Romeo and Juliet!

I have an image of the mouse knitting in front of a tiny television set.
Perhaps if I were to drink more…

In a tiny rocking chair.
I’d better make a beer run. This isn’t healthy.

rublem I’ve been to Hale’s.

Happy anniversary Juliet!

Another day over. I get to chill with the watercolors in the studio tonight.

FCD and I had a nice supper at Leonardtown Grille - they do nice grilled tuna steaks. YUM!!!

I tended Roxy while daughter and SIL rearranged their room and tidied things a bit. Today was well-baby visit and she’s 29" tall and just under 18#. She’s got a cold still, but no fever. Just lots of snot. And the heater we got for her room seems to be doing the trick of letting her sleep all night. I love those portable radiators!.

It was a good day.

Evening all. Pretty much a quiet day here, never made it out except to get the newspaper in the morning and the mail this afternoon. Paying my credit card bills was my primary adult action for the day. Did watch several episodes of MAS*H on TVLand (I still think it ranks in the top 5 best TV shows ever) and cleaned the bathroom, so there was that.

I got rid of my mouse problems about 3 years ago and they haven’t returned to date; one can hope.

Garbage has to go out tomorrow morning and the bills must be mailed, so I will be somewhat more active tomorrow.

Worked, came home. Bedtime,

I just wanna wipw the whole mess away.

Damn straight!

We’re coming up on living in Taiwan for six years! Still can’t speak Chinese very well. So completely different than Japanese.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 34 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 65 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No big plans for the day which is fine by me. I shall finish up my readin’ for CDI, decide what attire to pack for an overnight trip, pack said attire, and make sup which shall consist of bbq sammiches made from Tuesday’s leftover poke loin, cole slaw and oven fries. All easy peasey to make and yum.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Happy Thorsday!

Woke up too early, at 4 am, and never got back to sleep. I had a horrible headache because my neck was at an uncomfortable angle. Then my bladder started complaining. Now that I have to log in to irk soon, now I want to go back to sleep.

It’s a chilly 34 degrees outside and supposed to snow today.

Hiding Adam’s pill in tuna worked exactly twice. Last night he ate the tuna and left the pill behind. Three times.
Only took him two times to figure out there is a pill hidden in the tuna. Took me three times to figure out he knows.
I’m doomed.
So I put an arm around him, tilted his head back, opened his mouth, dropped the pill in, stroked his throat and blew in his nose. He didn’t care, he just wanted MORE TUNA!
We’ll see how long that works.

Other than a nap after irk nothing special planned for the day.
Tacos for the kid for dinner, I think some cabbage soup for me.

Rain and maybe snow headed towards our area. We seem to be in the mostly rain band, I hope.

Meanwhile, today is my Firday and I’ve got a buttload of crap on my desk. I plan to start the day by doing the little corrections that have been sent back before launching into the new stuff. I swear, this is a ruse to make me work full-time again!

Anyway, Happy Thursday!

Morning all. There’s rain the area, but looks like north of me (Red) is catching the worst of it. Need to mail the bills and get a few more provisions today, garbage has been collected and put out, so life is good.

Japanese Aspirin (I have got to find out the names of some of our infrequent MMPers), I spent four years in Abu Dhabi, UAE and didn’t learn any Arabic except ‘hello, how are you’, fine, how are you’ and ‘thank you’ and managed OK.

Sari, good luck with the pill regime.

I’m not, but I suspect my current clients keep it in theirs.

Sari I would take a look behind the dishwasher. It really sounds like what happened to us. And you might want to pay attention to what stores are having sales on appliances…

blurfage Irking of course. Just me and one other today so just in case I signed in as a clerk. So far it seems not too busy.

I told my son we need to do this and he is doing it now. I thought we’d do it over the weekend.

The antique car my FIL left in our garage for 30 years developed termites and squirrels but never any rats or mice.

It is one of the fewer new-style shops (I still prefer the old mom&pop places that sell as many bikes as they do gifts and clothes) its one of the better ones and do some fun activities. Even with say a 3 hour ride each way I’ve been known to make a weekend out of it now and then. Now Valley Harley down Belmont ------ two words: Zombie rides. Ya just gotta love it!

Nevermind - we watched a video, I’ll get somebody in to do it.

Ruble - I think mice are more attracted to warm cars, maybe?
Must have been a really cool old car if it had wood parts.

No snow, nor rain, yet.

We had mice chew up wire harnesses in my old van and in our current pick-up. That’s the problem of parking a little-used vehicle outside hereabouts. An expensive problem…

I’m losing it. Daughter placed an order for me and forwarded the confirmation email. I replied “I thought Prime gave 2 day delivery??” And as soon as I hit send, I realized that it is 2 day deliver. Today’s the 17th, and it’s coming on the 19th… It’s one of them days.

Went to ‘international night’ at one of our local restaurants. Last night was tapas and paella. The tapas were wonderful, as was the white bean, kale and ham soup. The paella, not so much. He put too many clams and mussels in this time and it was too salty. Of course, by that time we were pretty well stuffed with tapas and soup anyway.
This was an expensive lesson, ($125 with the wine.) and we may not go to many more international nights, which is too bad as the restaurant owners are friends of ours.
Anyway, came home feeling over stuffed and fell into bed. I had insomnia again and only got 4.5 hrs sleep until Gibbs woke me up at 7am to go outside. Then, when we came in he had one of his panic attacks and wouldn’t let me go back to sleep. I feel like crap right now.
Hopefully I can get a nap in sometime today.

We sometimes get mice and the occasional rat. We also get a lot of possums, and sometimes raccoons, and one time, a skunk. Not in the house though. Underneath. We don’t worry about mice and rats too much though. Gibbs is a terrier, and takes his job seriously. And unlike cats, he kills 'em quick.

Onward. (blurf)
