Road Trip! - An Automotive MMP

I’m up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. I’m driving north to the hockey Booster Club Convention in an hour. Any body else doing a road trip this summer?
Or hijack away, I’m on vacation and don’t care.

First!

Have a safe drive, doggio! We’ll have lunch Thursday!

also, I has a blurf and a headache

Only if multiple trips between Valladolid and Pamplona count, but it’s less than 5 hours even with multiple leisurely stops.

Wanna go to Toro next weekend, to see the Ages of Man show. And then maybe go on to Zamora; it’s half an hour to Toro, another half hour to Zamora. Monday is a holiday and the weekend itself marks one of the two weekends with most traffic in the year, so better not try to do too much. Oh, and other day trips in the area include Salamanca and Segovia. I’ve been to Segovia and to Toro but not to the other two.

Ages of Man is an archeological and art display that’s put every year in a different location; the one we saw in Calahorra years ago talked among other things of construction in the area in pre-Roman times. Turns out people back then already built in the same way that was used in other locations in the central Peninsula as recently as the 1950s: the whole house would be one room atop each other, with each home and its neighbors forming the adobe version of rowhouses.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin and cloudy out with a predicted high of 88 for the day and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and the next three days. We shall see. I shall accomplish some errands this mornin’ and make curried poke with bell peppers, onions, and sweet N.O.T. for dindin. That should keep me out of trouble most of the day.

{{{Poe}}} I’m so sorry for your loss.

doggio have a safe trip. I think rosie mentioned sump’n about havin’ gone to a great sale on axes this past weekend.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify and go out amongst the public.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Safe travels, doggio!! Wave as you zip thru Merrylande!

We have no road trips planned for this year. **FCD **was going to drive to FL to see his folks before his surgicals, but that didn’t happen, and now he won’t be in any shape for long drives for several months. The most we’ve got is a trek to my mom’s to drop off the dog before our cruise, but that’s not till the end of Oct. Just local cruisin’ here.

I accomplished much this morning, largely because I showered last night so I had some extra time. Besides feeding Higgs, I emptied the dishwasher, packed my lunch, took out the kitchen trash, wiped down the counters, and scooped the cat box.

The woman who’s interested in the camper will be coming over tomorrow. I think, barring the discovery of a rotting corpse in the bottom of the camper, she’ll be taking it home with her. So yay! That will free up space for the 2 tons of pellets that will be delivered in the next month or so.

And on that note, I should simulate workage. Happy Moanday!!

Happy Moonday!

It’s 66 degrees outside, but it is also very humid, so we closed the windows and turned on the AC. It’s supposed to get up to 85 today, and then back up into the 90s the rest of the week.

I have a huge blurf, even though I shouldn’t have. I got enough sleep.

Have a safe and fun trip Doggio.

If my friend down in Baltimore ever makes it up this way, I want to take a short trip into WV to the Kac-Ka-Pon restaurant. I haven’t eaten there since I was a kid and it might be fun to go there again.

I just had one of my famous 10-minute sneezing fits. I think I’d rather have a blurf.
{{{Poe}}}

Have fun, doggio!

Drive safe, Doggio! Is Gordie going with you?

I did very little of any practical use this weekend, but I watched the hell out of people doing things I can’t possibly do while other people explain how they should have done it better. I usually avoid sports-watching in all its forms, but it’s kind of amazing what I will watch when it’s Olympic.

Safe travels, doggio.

My travels are probably done until Thanksgiving , save for a day trip or two, as I now have a youth soccer team to coach, which is going to take out Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at a minimum. Total of eleven 10 and 11 year old boys (we play a 9 v 9 game), have no idea if we’ll be great, good, or…not, but I’m looking forward to it. I’ll the MMP’ers filled in on our progress.

Need to bathe, dress, and do a little shopping this morning. Outside of that, reading and perhaps cleaning the bathroom is on the schedule.

AAAAAAAAAHHH! So, my job is typically busy from April-July, and then has a few ups and downs for the rest of the year, depending on weather and things. I had a sidekick/assistant helping me answer the phones starting in March. She was laid off last week, because we just haven’t been busy.

So of course this morning is literally the busiest day I’ve had since Christmas.

Since I’m well down the page as usual I’ll start from last week:

From Doggio maybe. Now had it been you ---------- oh wow! Did you see that butterfly go by?

Always a good thing to have around; you never know when the zombie apocalypse or an ICP concert make break out.

I missed it but where is the Drunks – I MEAN BOOSTER CLUB – going this year?

As for road trips; nothing big this year. With the health issues the Old Wench and I have had and exceeding our $5k deductible it seemed best to stick to weekends and say a 350 mile range. :frowning: But since we got to visit our friends from the Electric Amish (even if they were heathen English that weekend) and going to Knoebels with the family twice this year, we can live with that.

Since my primary vacation is (still) being spent moving and unpacking, the only road trips I’ll have for the rest of the year will be a long weekend to Indiana for the family reunion and one with my bestie to the mountains this fall to see the trees.

Back to unpacking. Happy Moanday!

Last night I learned to wash my armpit. It was glorious.

I had shoulder surgery and can’t lift my arm. The best I could do in the shower was stand with the spray on my shoulder and appreciate whatever channeled into my armpit on its own. I do have range of motion, just not strength. I crawled my hand up the wall like Thing from the Addams Family and voila! Clean armpit!

blurf Howdy from irk. Safe travels Doooggiioooo and give **Rosie ** a hug for me.

We had a tree trimmer come and trim our only tree at home this morning. It is the largest Travelers Palm I have ever seen or was. I haven’t seen it since it was trimmed. They are named traveler’s palm because they orient themselves North/South and if you poke a hole in the right place you can get potable water from it.

I just held a newborn baby. He is so cute and alert for being only 1 week old. I was very happy to hand him back over to his parents though.

Enjoy your new week all.

I’d say this wins today’s TMI award.

Lunch break is almost over. I’ve had a crazy morning, and I expect more of the same this afternoon. This is one of those days when I wonder why I un-retired. I’m sure fatigue has something to do with it. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to feel rested.

Woe is me…

Howdy Y’all! Today I have run a bunch of errands includin’ meetin’ with the guy who manages my 501K and other retirement stuff. Always a fun time. Actually I like him a lot. I went grocery shoppin’ as well. Now I’m at da cave, have had N.O.L. and in chill mode until time to start dindin. ‘Tis cloudy out but the sun keeps tryin’ to peep out from time to time. There is a band of storms/rain headed this way however.

My chores are all done. Now I’m going to knock off the rest of the day to recuperate from my huge dose of reality yesterday.

501K? Is it really 100 better than a 401k??

Just ate a peach, then wiped up the drips off my desk. It was quite juiceful. Yum!

I need to ask the boss for more work, but I just don’t want to. I want a nap!!! I’s tahred!!

Had to dash out and close my car windows - a coworker with a window saw that it was raining and found out the blue Sonata with the windows slightly opened was mine. Luckily, it wasn’t raining hard. And while out there, I was able to grab the box of tissues - I used the last from the box on my desk. My sleeves are safe!
