Our favorite Wyoming sheriff is back! Season 3 debuted last night, and will run for a total of 10 episodes.
I rewatched the last couple of season 2 eps (it’s all on Netflix streaming) before the S3 premiere last night. Very intense!
Looks like Branch will survive. Interesting bit with the crow feather. That was a weird scene in the hospital when he nearly choked out Cady and then was all non-chalant about it. “Oh, hey, by the way, don’t mention to anyone that I nearly killed you just now.”
I like the conflicts between Walt and Mathias. He keeps Walt on his toes.
Vic was looking at Walt in a different way, it seemed to me, a few times in this episode. Maybe whatshername–Walt’s lady friend–wasn’t wrong about those two after all.
I hope they bring Walt’s amusingly persistent gal pal back at some point. I don’t think it would make much sense to do so until the storyline involving the murder of Walt’s wife has been wrapped up. But once it is, she’d be a good way to really show he was ready to move on. I’m so not digging on a Walt-Vic match.
Not sure. I thought that was a bit lazy writing – not sure if I by that Barlowe is that evil. Further, Vic seems to be getting more and more unlikable – boy I hope Walt doesn’t hook up with her (though that’s probably a foregone conclusion).
The motivation for Walt’s wife’s murder seemed pretty tenuous. I think there would have been other ways to spend $50,000 that would have been more effective.
Last season ended on a “Is Branch going to die?” cliffhanger, too. I’m guessing neither Branch nor his father will be dead. Unless the actor wants to leave, I don’t see why they’d write Branch off–he’s a good foil for Walt. And having him kill his own dad just seems too dark.
I was kinda disappointed with the way the whole story line about Vic’s stalker/former lover ended. The episode itself was good (the one with Vic and hubby taken by the survivalists), but at the end of it Gorski just decides to leave her alone? It just didn’t ring true.
Longmire pulled in great ratings and I understood it was considered a very successful series, in terms of advertising sales. I don’t get it.
As cable migrates to more Honey Boo Boos and Gypsy weddings and Duck Dynasties, and gets away from dramatic series, I’m thankful that streaming exists as an alternative.
