Yes, we’re going to put down hardwood flooring, actually. Before that, though, I’ve got to level, landscape, and fence-in the yard, renovate the kitchen, and renovate both bathrooms.
I think I’ll get to it in about two years.

I remember being a size eight once…about 10 years ago. Sigh, I wish I was again.
In regards to the “poo ado”; tile doesn’t do much good if it’s the furniture the poo has been painted on. Just sayin…
I’m so very glad my kids are waaaaaaaaaaay past that stage. I mean, they’re cute and all when they’re little; but it’s so amazing to watch what they’ve become! Besides, it’s nice to know that if I really don’t feel like cooking, they’re more than capable of cooking something up for themselves. Daycare savings are a huge bonus too! I don’t know how people can afford it now!
I have never been a size 8 in my life. Puggy, I say you eat whatever the hell you want. Which is why I’m not a size 8.
What a busy weekend! I’ve been trying to keep up reading the MMP, but man you guys write a lot!
First thing, we were adopted by a stray dog. Her name is Lucy and she’s bee-yoo-tee-ful! A little stressful, though. We already have one dog, and a routine established. Not a big problem, though.
I think I told you guys our entire department is moving within two weeks! More stress. I can handle it though.
The third thing is my dad has agreed to take us up on our offer to move in with us. Very soon. Like in the next couple of weeks. We have to clear out two rooms (not impossible) and get him moved. Lots of stuff to get rid of. We’ll give some to Goodwill, and have a garage sale or two.
Lot going on!
Too many of you to respond to - just know that I really love reading all about the minutiae of your lives.
Have a happy, everyone!
Morning! You can tell it’s spring because it’s only -4! It was nice last weekend. I dunno how long the cold will last.
Today is laundry and cleaning and work, and now mourning about how I was a size eight three years ago, and am not any more.
In spite of that, I am glad that it’s nearly spring here, and that I only have three more days of work, and that next week I’ll have time for some major housecleaning.
I can tell it’s spring because…BASEBALL.
Saturday we watched about 6 hours of baseball - had tickets to the World Baseball Classic. Tonight is even more baseball.
Korean baseball fans are crazy. I’m telling you, I’ve never heard more spirited fans, and I’ve been to a NLCS championship winning game. They’ve got spirit, oh yes they do!
Ivyboy found out Grandma is taking him to England.
No, I don’t think he’s come down to earth yet.
Good morning, one and all.
I celebrated spring by raking the front yard (filling 6 bags of yard trash in the process) and laying down some weed preventer and lime pellets. This was Saturday.
Sunday the GF and I took knives to between the boards on the desk, shoving the detrius that’s accumulated over the winter into the black void beneath the deck. Next, we refurbished three existing birdhouses and painted two new-ish ones she picked up at the thrift store. Then we dug up the roots of two juniper bushes and two other types of bushes that I cut away last week when I was destroying part of the local ecosystem. And we identified another juniper that has to go bye-bye, and agreed on the new height that the privacy hedges will be reduced to. Currently, they are anywhere between 20 and 30 feet high. In the next couple of days, they will be reduced to 5 feet, and thinned.
And my complaint to the Chinese embassy worked! I am once again the recipient of a snerk-worthy fortune:
You are in for something big.
Yea me!
<snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
That works on so many, many levels!
BTW Sean why do you have a desk full of detritus on your deck?
Ivylass yay for Ivyboy! Rebo and Savannah yay for the new doggies!
Everybody else yay for whatever you have to yay about!
-swampbear (YAY!)
Grr. The $2,000 charge Expedia told me would be taken off my account within 72 hours was still there 120 hours later, so I sent an email, received an email back saying that I had to call, and then spent half an hour on the phone. I have my money back, though.
Then I went on my morning break–for exactly the same length of time I’ve taken for morning and afternoon breaks for the last two years–and was yelled at for taking too long.
I hate today so much.
Oh…yeah…forgot about that. You are soooooo right. Makes me feel really good that my “baby” is 22.
ivylass, I am so jealous! I can see why the boy is floating on air.
Has riggs left for her vaca yet?
drae, all the more reason to hye thee outta there.
Oddly enough, when gathered all together in one place, it covered the exact area that an elementary school desktop covers.
Or, it was just a typo on my part, you big dummy!
Hey scout did you talk to BSMF about you trading up to a Mike?
Sean, you scamp! I think BSMF is a keeper, at least for now. But I tells ya, the next time he leaves the TP roll empty, I might consider it!
I’m just reporting in to say that I reupped for another year. Yep. Y’all gotta keep puttin’ up with me. Live with it. So There! As long as I keep gettin’ entertained I’ll keep reuppin’.
It’s spring?
Oh yes, it MUST be spring, because I finally shook off the dust and went out fighting yesterday.
I’m achy all over, but I had fun.
Also, the documentary that they filmed about the game I play won some award at some film festival, which is cool. It’s in competition at Hot Docs in Toronto in a few weeks. The wife and I are thinking about driving up, just so we can say we did.
I want cake.
Oh, yeah, it’s that time of year, innit. I think I’ve got till next month.
Boy, that Spring Fever really sneaks up on ya, dunnit? I would like to just go outside and enjoy the weather but, oh, noooooooooooo, I’m stuck in here doing data entry.
I got all paranoid that I might lose my Charter status … but I’m good until April 28. Yay me.
I feel your pain. It’s BEEEEE-YOOOTI-FUL outside, but here I sit, working on running queries for a report and entering the data from the queries on said report. This is after QAing the data. Blech…
I just received an e-mail from my boss. It seems I’m overdue for my counseling, so I need to go in there stat and get it done. Uh…my objectives have changed, so I need to set them down. My old boss didn’t get a chance to counsel me before he moved on. Dammit! So, now I have to do two counselings.
It’s not like I wasn’t counseled AT ALL. They were just informal. Old Boss: What have you done re:(whatever objective). Me: I did XYZ. Old Boss: What are your professional plans? Me: I plan XYZ. Old Boss: ARe you going to pursue some training: Me: Yes, I would like to pursue XYZ.
Sigh, oh well. It could be worse. I could have a boss that just didn’t give a damn. That would be worse.
Ah, pine pollen - I remember when my dark green van would be yellowish. Yet another reason I’m glad I’m not longer in FL. We’re being threatened with snow tomorrow, but the temps will start creeping towards normal shortly thereafter. Then we’ll spring ahead. And I’ll start doing yard work after I get home from the office - my yard may be beaten into submission yet!
FCD got our boat all legal today. The registration sticker expired in December, but we didn’t get a notice in the mail and I kept forgetting to go take care of it. So he did it today - no late fee or anything. It cost a whole $10 - yet another thing I like about Maryland over Florida. So we’re good to go, whether we sell it or not. Next month, it’ll come out of the water for a bottom job. (That means the hull will be cleaned and painted, you pervs.) So sometime between now and then, we’ll un-winterize it and flush out the water tank. Spring commissioning - the favorite time in a boat owner’s year…
I’ll be re-upping soon. I’d do it now, but I don’t feel like walking across the room to get my credit card.
Shrimp for dinner - yum! Maybe I’ll bake brownies for dessert. Double yum.
Friday, much St. Patrick’s Day debauchery ensued.
Saturday, I got my nose pierced.
I’m currently very angry with my Spanish professor- she sent out an email with an attached assignment. It said “Choose one of the following articles and write a brief summary.” Then it listed 2 articles. Then it said, once again “choose one of the following articles and write a brief summary,” then listed 2 more articles. It went on to do this 9 times. So after going through and spending hours writing many summaries on articles that were way, way above my reading level in Spanish, I got to class Thursday and found out that 1) Nothing is due until Tuesday and 2) She only wanted us to write one, longer summary. :smack: So now I have to go back and reread and rewrite one of the summaries. While that shouldn’t be too difficult, I think it’s unfair that, by following her original directions, I had to do so much extra work I’m never going to get credit for.
And…well, nothing else of any interest has been going on lately. Carry on.
