Well I thought their blurb was a bit misleading:

The Straight Dope is the site for Cecil Adams’ syndicated newspaper column of the same name. This site deals strictly with facutal questions you’ve always wanted to know the answers to, like, “Why does swiss cheese have holes in it?” and “Will suppressing a sneeze give you a brain aneurysm?”

Apparently they didn’t click all the way through to the message board.
