One last Switch question; what are - besides Mario Kart 8, I have that - games suitable for two people to play together on one Nintendo Switch? My kid has a friend staying with us for a week or two (for reasons honestly too sad to get into here) and I’d like to surprise them with something really awesome.
Sorry to not google this but when I google “switch best multiplayer games” it’s entirely about the games best played multiplayer ONLINE. I mean in person, like Mario Kart can be played multiplayer in person.
Untitled Goose Game just (like today!) had an update drop for it that adds coop.
So now both of you can putter about as really terrible geese, terrorizing a sleepy community. The game is remarkably charming, if you don’t feel guilty for being horrid.
One with lots of options is Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Although it does have a story mode, it is basically a collection of games based on the olympic games. You can play up to four people, though in some cases that means teams of two in the competition. Of course, for a little throwback action you can get Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection which contains 12 arcade games.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate - That’s the one my kids play together most often. Fighting game with Nintendo characters.
Super Mario Maker 2 - Is also pretty fun. As a team they can complete homemade Mario levels, or work together to create some.
Super Mario Party- I think it’s great fun, but, fair warning, not unlike some family board game nights… among all my games, this is the one most likely lead to fights, hurt feelings and legitimate tears shed.
