Looking for new king crab recipes

As Spring arrives I must empty my freezer for this season’s halibut and salmon. I have about 20 pounds of king crab thawing for dinner, but I really need a new way to prepare it. It is already cooked and cleaned, still in the shell. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Simple is better. Steamed, served with clarified butter. I like to add dill to the steaming water.

No recipe ideas… but may I come for dinner??? Crab is my FAVORITE!!!

I understand that for folks who don’t have the opportunity to eat a lot of crab, simple is very, very good. However, it has been one of the staple protien sources for my family for the last 17 years, and we have tired of boiled/steamed, cassaroles, dips, spreads, crab melt sandwiches, etc. I just want to serve up something different tonight!

PapSett if you can make it by 6:00 Alaska time, you are more than welcome, I certainly have more than enough to share!

I have a feeling we are going to be eating crab salad sandwiches for a week. le sigh

Emeril has an interesting recipe for king crab soup that can be found on the food network site. You can also mix crab meat into any type of filling for manicotti or stuffed shells.

Or you can send it to me. Living in a landlocked state about an hour from even a small city does not make for plentiful seafood opportunities.

Well thanks you all, we wound up just snacking on leftovers as I have a sinus headache. (Must be Spring…finally!) I did find some interesting recipes, and will decide what to try tomorrow. If it’s a fabulous success, I’ll let you know!

melondeca I wish I could share! I have been on the ocean all my life, but we also raised our own beef and had a huge vergetable/berry/orchard to eat from as well. If it’s any consolation, our produce here is rarely up to par, yet it’s quite pricey, and our growing season is short and cool. I miss those great big, juicy Red Delicious apples, apples here are generally mealy, with the exception of Granny Smiths.
