Looking for passage from Iliad

Can’t find it in the ebook I read.

At the gates of Troy, two of the characters meet and before getting into battle they try to intimidate each other with their family histories. The Trojan goes first and then the Greek realizes that the Trojan’s the son of a guy his own father saved. They then make a pact not to fight each other and there’s a great quote about living such that you make previous generations proud.

Anyone remember which book this was in?

That’s book six.
the scene you’re looking for starts on line 119 of the Lattimore translation.
