Checking out the new Time Portal TV on Roku, and a series titled “Star Fleet” just popped up. Supermarionation-type show set in the future, and I can’t find it on Wiki or IMDb. Somebody clue me in.
Nevernind-found it. It was a Japanese series titled “X Bomber” (1980), redubbed and released in the UK as “Star Fleet”. X-Bomber - Wikipedia
My first exposure to this series was the Brian May version of the “Star Fleet” theme song. There weren’t many times I saw a video on MTV and immediately went to the record store looking for an album, but this was one of them.
That was a bonus I didn’t expect-Thank you!
The puppetry was creepy as heck, but that song is a banger.

Brian May’s version is a cover; the original is by UK songwriter Paul Bliss. The Japanese theme song for the original X-Bomber TV series is by Japanese metal band Bow Wow/Vow Wow, and it’s also great!
It’s not as good as the Brian May version (duh) but still pretty good.
I made a Star Fleet T-Shirt design a few years back, if anyone is so inclined.
Give a little credit to the other guitarist on Brian May’s version: Eddie Van Halen.
