Beneficial for cancer? And Fibromyalgia? And worms?

Hold on to your wallet. I’ll stick my neck out by saying “quack quack”. But I’m not sticking my neck out far, believe me.

Is that a low pressure mercury vapor lamp they have on that unit? It sure looks like it. I built a variable frequency DC inverter for that type of lamp back in high school. Depending on the lamp, and the frequency you feed it, you make all sorts of odd plasma shapes; chains of spheres, stationary or moving, rotating spirals etc. It looks like they’ve set their demo unit up for the spirals. Funny thing though, the frequency you drive the lamp at does next to nothing for the frequency of the light that it emits. Photons always tend to come out at the emission frequency of a low pressure mercury gas. All the fancy power supply does is strobe that output, and make it look pretty.

I love that machine. What is in that tube - a plasma discharge?

The discharge looks like one of those light wave things the teacha used to talk about in school - oh and it must be resonating light because it is a standing wave.

Doesn’t Canada have a TGA?

Squink you answered most of my question before I hit submit. But you forgot to answer if Canada has a TGA. Slack.

You know, I do remember seeing a reprinted article from something like Scientific American which dated from around the late 1800s in which filtered sunlight was used to treat certain skin conditions. No idea if it really worked, but presumably it’s been replaced by more effective treatments. The only light treatment I know of which is currently in use are those used to treat SAD.

Bright sunlight can be beneficial to people with psoriasis. I had a patient in prison with a bad case, and we couldn’t get a dermatologist with a PUVA (UV light) booth who would accept him. So I just ordered extra outdoor rec for him. Without a shirt. Had to talk personally with the director of security to get it cleared, but it helped him.
