I know tribute threads can be annoying, but not this one. Because it’s for Biggirl.

I loves me some Biggirl. She never fails to make me laugh. She just had a line in the “Ready for Kids” thread about knowing she was ready for kids when she was dilated 10cm. Heh heh. snort

I like how she can skewer a bad argument in just a few lines, and with humor.

I haven’t met her, but I also hear she’s one hell of a dancer. She’s one of the major reasons I’d love to go to NYC for a NY Dopefest sometimes. I mean, there are dozens of wunnerful NYC Dopers I can’t wait to meet or see again, but Biggirl has a special place in my heart.

I’m no good at tribute threads generally, but I can get the ball rolling. Those of you with better gushing skills, thread-linking propensities, and personal knowledge of Biggirl, well, you know what to do.

I’d contribute a word of praise or two, but I’m afraid that if she didn’t like it, she’d make me clean my room.

I’ll third this thread. Biggirl has had many a post that I’ve thought was great. In most cases I didn’t get a chance to respond for one reason or another. (I’m not Mr. Prolific Poster.) I think the one I regret letting pass the most was the one about not being very good at the video games she likes - a sentiment I can relate to easily.

So here’s to Biggirl!

In a written medium, folks can easily misunderstand, misconstrue, etc. and get hurt feelings. There was one such incident 'tween us, where she didn’t even want to go into it, 'cause she believed that it was water under the bridge or some such, and knew that generally speaking friends and all that.

I perservered (I’m pretty damned stubborn) and we happily discovered there was a misunderstanding. I was happiest tho’ 'cause she allowed us to not only get beyond it, but to get into it.

A truly honest individual.

I had long admired Biggirl, but this thread turned me into a devoted fan. Like I mentioned in the “Welcome Zoltarb” thread, I keep a list of her one-liners.

She might very well be the Queen of Sheba.

Here’s a fourth. Biggirl is my hero, she’s able to maintain her cool in threads that drive me nuts.

Biggirl and I got into a tiff a long time ago and ever since then I’ve hated her with the rage of a thousand or so suns.

Just kidding. I think she’s witty and funny and rips tails off baby squirrels.

Yea, me too. In this world of delicately tiptoeing around something for fear of offending, Biggirl has the intelligence, presence and bluntness (in a good way…) to come right to the point, whatever her point happens to be. I’ve only attended two of the NYCfests, but found that positioning myself near her meant I’d be constantly amused. It’s rare to find someone who is so much fun both in print AND person.

When I become a multi-billionaire I’m gonna have the world’s biggest Dopefest. I’m gonna fly dopers in from all the corners of the Earth. The only stipulation would be that all must dance on the bar.

I sat next to Biggirl at my first Dopefest ever. We both had sea bass with trees, and later on, in the bar, she nearly spilled a beer on me.

She offered to trade kids with me in January, like they were Pokemon cards. She can make me laugh till I

  1. get a stitch in my side
  2. pee my pants
  3. have tears rolling down my face
  4. fall on the floor like so much Jell-O
  5. all of the above

Nothin’ gets by this woman. She’s smart, savvy, sassy, a helluva dancer, funny, acerbic, sweet, honest, great, great, greatgreatgreat!

Biggirl is what Dopers are all about. I love her.

And her husband is one helluva nice guy.
