Lost 1.17 "In Translation"

Right, Jin was there first, trying to put it out. But that doesn’t mean that he necessarily saw Walt do it. The best I can figure is that folks here are saying that Jin and Sun knew already that Walt did it, because that other linked site (on page 2) with the translations contained an incorrectly translated line. Because right now, the translations listed on that linked post say nothing about Walt.

Well sorry, I linked to that originally. Since this person has been translating the stuff for a while I figured they knew what they were doing.

Bah! I think that’s the last straw, I’m not going to spoiler myself any more and I think I will avoid future spec. Those people over there drive me nuts with some of their stuff.

No problem – I was just a little confused at first, because I didn’t see anything about Walt (and I didn’t get a chane to watch this episode – on tape – until Friday night, so I came to this thread late). Then I realized what was up, since some of the replies on THAT page were also about Walt (even though it was gone from the OP).

I do find it interesting that they are leaving a lot of the Korean lines un-subtitled on the show. For example, I was wondering how Sun knew that Jin burned his hands trying to put the fire out, when she actually suspected him earlier. I didn’t realize that this was just what he was saying in Korean – which Michael apparently thought were insults (punch clobber POW)

Finally, I’ve got an answer to the whole "Was Sun speaking English or was it a “Hunt for Red October” moment, from Javier Grillo-Marxuach, writer and supervising producer for Lost.

Note that this is not a spoiler; this was not some mystery, only a case of people being a little confused (most likely by Sun’s perfect and accent-less english during that scene)

Ha! I win! Take that, you people-who-thought-Sun-was-speaking-Korean-the-whole-time!

You win?! HA! I win. I was the one that said she was definitely speaking English first.

I even gave the same reasoning for her speaking English. Damn, I’m good!

I’ll just say that I leapt in early and agreed with Mauvaise on his call – so I’m joining the Winners’ Circle.
