Lost 2.12: "Fire + Water"

Seemed to be changing the combonation on the weapons locker again because he was hiding the drugs/statues in there.

:smack: Ohhhhhhhhh.

But, is it really that complicated to change the combination? Not that I would know. I don’t have a bunker-saferoom-weapon room. One day, one day…

I gotta say, this is the first episode of Lost that I thought totally sucked. Nothing about the episode seemed to have any meaning whatsoever.

IIRC Unbaptised babies go to limbo, not purgatory. Actually I think opinion is changing about that as well.

Agree mostly a lame episode. Tho I liked:
Noticing the washer / dryer
Tailies
AnaL being direct
Eko

I would think that even the most female cluelss guy would know how to respond to “do you think I can pull this off”? (esp if she could)

Argh! Tivo out of room. Anybody wish to recap the last 3 minutes or so (and next week’s preview)? From Eko and Claire’s speech?

Thanks!

The way I read it was… he was about to put the water bottle in the bag, then realized that if he does it carelessly, Claire will see what’s inside. So he paused, then made sure to put it in carefully (e.g. without pulling anything out to rearrange or make room) where the rest of the contents of the bag would not be in her view.

Oh. Yes, that makes perfect sense. :frowning: I guess I was looking so intently for “clues” in this rather dull episode that I, um, overdid it.

Were Eko’s Special Trees burned down? Aww.

Veronica Mars tonight, last scene, Veronica is looking at a fortune.

Remember, this runs on UPN opposite “Lost.”

Anyone think that Charlie was acting completely out of character, even by Lost standards. Supposing he actually wasn;t using what the hell is supposed to account for his craziness? I’m waitng for Charlie to have an “Eeeeeerrriiiiiiiiiinnnnnn!!!” moment.

That diaper ad was so many kinds of wrong, I don’t even know where to start counting!

And I cracked up at that Eko line, too. After I tried and tried to analyse it for a deeper meaning, of course.

rewinds, watches scene
Ha! That’s a great catch edwino. That just flew past me.

Who did the diaper commercial director say he wanted to use instead of Drive Shaft?

Sorry. Not gonna read whole thread before commenting.

Me like Eko.

Me hate Locke.

Locke devil. Locke need to die.

Eko need to kill Locke.

I can see why people would be upset with Charlie, but come on…Hurley doesn’t even try to get his pal’s side of the story? I was surprised that Locke punched C. three times and that everyone turned their back on him except Jack, who felt he had to do something medical.

More nicknames from Sawyer, all for Hurley: Jabba, Hoss, Jethro. Did he use those already?

Yep, and here’s my hypothesis. CFL’s prediction is coming true, and the losties are sucumbing, one by one, to “the sickness”. Last week it was Michael. He wasn’t just his usual irritating self-- he was absolutely nuts. And Charlie, too, this episode.

I like the reference to the washer/drier being newer-- those writers are efin’ with us…

Gottal love Eko. I’m marking the trees. The ones I like. Did Charlie’s fire destroy those trees…???

The diaper scene with DriveSuck was just wrong. Very wrong.

I’m getting more and more suspicious of Libby all the time. She was too insistant that she remembered Charlie from the plane. Maybe she’s a Dharma plant, pre-crash.

Note: Next week’s episode is a repeat of “Numbers”.

I, personally, thought that Charlie needed some sense (literally) knocked in to him.

I also thought Locke rocked. Locke doesn’t know what the audience knows. He naturally assumes that Charlie is using, nuts, or both. He isn’t stealing Clair and Aaron–he’s protecting them from a drugged-crazed madman. Just because he’s seems to be sort of a guru doesn’t mean he’s not allowed to lose his patience in an extreme situation.

I’d say Sawyer had the best line of the episode. Something like, “Don’t you have a load you need to drop too?” spoken to Hurley after Libby dropped her laundry. Cracked up my whole Lost-watching gang.

He’s quickly become one of my favorite characters this season.

Its about darn time someone noticed the peculiar practically brand-spanking new washer and dryer. But still it seems hardly worth mentioning. Obviously the Dharma folks must be deeply intwined with the Maytag or Whirlpool R&D department. I still wonder why the obviously new appliances hardly warrant a second thought for anyone except for the fresh eyes of a tailie.

Fairly boring episode, much less exciting than the previews led us to believe last week. Hard to feel sorry for poor ol’ Charlie. Very interesting that Locke didn’t destroy the statues but instead is keeping them intact inside the safe. Gotta wonder what the reasoning is there.

I don’t think this requires a spoiler box.

Libby is a psychologist - could Hurley recognize her from the mental hospital?

This ep didn’t do a whole lot for me, although the visual at the end with Eko and Claire and Aaron was wonderful.

StG

They were calling them that in the Podcasts right after the Tailies were introduced.

Babies go to limbo, but that’s under discussion

I thought it was only the ‘higher’ angels that had wings? They looked more like Saints to me though…

Very wrong… very very wrong. As for the Eko line, I just thought he decided he liked those ones best to build himself a hut on. :stuck_out_tongue:
