Did Ana Lucia tell the other tail section survivors the truth about Goodwin (and Nathan)? We don’t see it on screen in “The Other 48 Days”, but in “Collision” Libby chastises Ana-Lucia about her treatment of Sayid and questions Ana-Lucia’s ability to judge a person’s character, saying “I saw you put Nathan in a pit to starve him.” This would only be a criticism if Libby now knew Natha was not an “Other”. From this, we can infer that Libby knows Natha was a fellow survivor, and that Goodwin was the true spy. It also seems unlikely that Ana-Lucia could have returned from killing Goodwin and not have told the other survivors what happened.
I agree that ANaL must have told the group the truth about Godwin and Nathan, but I don’t think the rest of the group EVER believed Nathan was a dupe.
Actually, Libby herself told Ana Lucia that she suspected Nathan of being a spy. I’ve also seen speculations that Libby might be an Other, in which case she might have been working with Goodwin and was attempting to draw suspicions away from him.
And while we saw the confrontation between Ana Lucia and Goodwin, none of the other castaways did. All they’ve got to go on is the fact that Ana Lucia and Goodwin went out into the woods and only Ana Lucia came back and her account of what happened. There has to be some suspicion among them that maybe Goodwin figured out Ana Lucia is the Other and she killed him for it.
She must have told them what she learned and the “ten minutes after the crash you come out of the jungle dry” clue.
A-L says “we’re safe now” when she returns from killing Goodwin.
The other survivors have to ask “where’s Goodwin?”
Scenario 1: A-L says that the Others killed him / took him. If so, if the Others were just a short climb away, how could they be safe now?
Scenario 2: A-L says that Goodwin was an Other, she killed him before he could reveal their new location, and that’s why they’re now safe.
Scenario 2 seems the only likely version.
Didn’t we see Libby come out of the water after the tail crash? If not, we certainly saw her on the beach very soon thereafter working on the injured.
If she is an Other, doesn’t that mean she would have been a plant on the plane?
That was jus an early speculation - until we saw Libby on the beach and in the water.

If I remember correctly there was scene with the tailies where one of them mentioned “remember what the others/They did to Goodwin” I think it may have been the episode when Echo and Jin stumble across his body, or maybe the episode after that. That leads me to believe that it was Scenario 1
That “clue” further illustrates Anna Lucia’s propensity for jumping to conclusions. In this case she was right, but who else do we know who came out of the jungle, dry, ten minutes after the crash?
Our old pal Jack, of course.
I thought AL said “Remember what they did to us? Do you remember Goodwin?”
Maybe. To me the crossword clue (Friend of Enkidu) was more interesting than the answer (Gilgamesh). Enkidu was a wild, jungle-man doppelganger of Gilgamesh. Cite.
I suggest the writers are reminding us that Eko is a doppelganger of Locke.
Well, technically, all of the 48 came out of the jungle dry… 50 if you count Vincent and the pilot.
I can just see ANal (heh) tossing Vincent in a pit and yelling at him until he gives her the answers she wants.
Psycho biatch.

I don’t get it - was this episode supposed to make me think AnaL (I like that, btw) is a sympathetic character? That she’s not just a cold, calculating bitch who’s no better than the guy who shot her? Only it did a pretty piss-poor job of it.
I didn’t like Boone, so when I heard someone was going to die in the first season I had hoped it would be him, but I was still kind of sad when it happened. All through this episode I just found myself wishing that AnaL hadn’t been wearing Kevlar at the time…
I think this show was meant to show us that ANaL had had personal dealings with death, and some issues with her parent(s). Like every other Lostaway. Except Rose & her husband. That we know of…
I can’t wait to find out about Rose’s twisted past. No way was there a serene cookie-baking grandma with no skeletons in her closet aboard Flight 815. Nuh-uh.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say “sympathetic.” Maybe “pathetic.” She’s totally bottomed out. There’s some pathos there, anyway – doesn’t mean we’re expected to remember her birthday.
I bet she was going to kill Bernard for insurance money.
Well… he (Bernard) wasn’t taken by the Others, because he wasn’t ‘good’… and they tried to take Ecko (and got killed for the effort)… so ???
I’ll bet they are the anti-losties… they arent the ones with the troubled past… it’ll be thier children…
That or he’s BTK and she’s from Waco…
I seem to remember someone suggesting that “Danny”, Ana Lucia’s SigOther, may be a female and AnaL was a lesbian. I couldn’t find the post here, but rewatching Collision last night, ANaL’s cop partner refers to Danny as “him”.
Two options:
(1) Danny is a guy.
or
(2) Partner doesn’t know Danny is a woman,
From what I know about the closeness of cop partners, #2 seems unrealistic.
