Lost 3.3: Further Instructions

Please don’t ever use those terms in such close proximity to each other. Thank you.

Anal Fish Biscuit would be a great name for a punk band.

So, did we learn anything from this episode?

I mean, really. We saw all four of our Guys Who Were In An Imploding Hatch. They told us nothing. They discussed nothing except, “Dude, why didn’t you use that magic key before?”. Not what happened. Not why they survived. Not a damned thing.

Are the writers trying anymore?

-Joe

I see what you’re saying, but this isn’t really any different from the way the writers had the Losties survive the plane crash. I assume that the same unknown Island Mystery saved the 3 guys in the Hatch.

What we learned:

  1. They all seem to have survived, in a Lost sort of way. Desmond might be dead, but that’s a little unlikely, even for Lost.

  2. Desmond has the ability to see the future, a little.

  3. The Jesus Stick has been broken.

  4. Locke is a hypocritical drug-taking ex-pot grower, and possibly a cop-killer.

  5. Hurley looks like he’s lost some weight, ironically enough.

  6. Charlie doesn’t like Locke what with the face-punching and all, but he’s not going to let that keep him from playing along with Locke, particularly if it allows him to deliver some barbs of snarky goodness. “I don’t want to be the one to have to tell you this, but…”

I’m sure as the series goes on that we will find out this was all part of the plan. Or something.

Perhaps he was molested by the polar bear. And he’s been repressing the recent memories, so all he can remember now is the future…

Nah. If that had happened, the polar bear would be checking itself into rehab about now.

Well he would have, but Libby was his therapist. He’s still looking for a new one.

What’s with the Deja vu bit between Hugo and Desmond? I missed something.

Oh, wow, deja vu…

Haven’t you said that before?

We’re gonna need to read that again…

Okay, who played the undercover cop (Eddie?) and where do I know him from?

He was Tom Cruise’s son in War of the Worlds.

Aha!

Thank you, Dooku!

I aims ta please.

What do you all make of the fact that the two strongest uncaptured male leaders had their failures shoved in their faces and dropped their tough guy acts? Sayid apologized to Jin and Sun for having a bad plan and not listening to them. Locke admitted he’d been sidetracked and vowed that they would work together and get their people back. If this happens, this could mean that the playing field would be a bit more level between the Losties and the Others. Benjamin even remarked about the lack of trust and the amount of secrecy between the losties. If the Losties could find common ground and work together, the conflicts between them and the Others could get a lot more interesting. I’ll admit that I’m tired of the Others seeming to have the upper hand in their dealings with the Losties.
