My sister and I were just talking about some of these speculations (I love the doper perspective), and she called the Black Rock “the Hasbro ship.” I’m going to call it the Hasbro Foundation from here on out.
Their own version of a Kwisatz Haderach?
That would be my guess.
Really? Huh. I think he’s a lot of things but attractive certainly doesn’t make the top 100 of that list. I thought he was supposed to be the “ugly thug” type… And those pics? they show that he has that insect-like over-developed muscules type body that grosses me out and has an average face, just like I thought.
It’s a good thing that tastes are so varied or there would be a lot of people out there not getting any. I’m not saying you shouldn’t find him attractive–just that it surprised me to hear you call him “eye candy”… in the same way it would surprise me to hear someone describe Ben as “eye candy”…I mean I am sure there are plenty of people who find Ben attractive, but “eye candy” just doesn’t spring to mind.
I’m ambivalent about his looks myself, as I do bat for the other team. I do enjoy his performances though. I just posted the first couple of pics that I saw. The hunky poses were not at all what I was expecting.
OMG, Opal!!! You’re right!!!
I think you’ve solved the mystery of The REAL Evil Force behind the island!!!
I was expecting this
Harold Perrineau thinks race was a factor in Michael’s demise. From here.
I’d say that that guarantees that Michael won’t be back.
me too.
What IS it with these guys?
Oh, and good. I hated that fucking character. It’s just too bad he took Jim with him, but I consider it a worthwhile tradeoff.

I know that this is “old news” in the Lost timeline, but whatever happened to Cindy and the kids who were abducted from the Tailies? Are they still with Richard’s group? When we saw him in the last episode, it didn’t look like there were any kids with him.

I assumed they left those who couldn’t fight at the Temple.
The other question, of course, is why the Freighter Mercenaries were a threat.
The Others seem to have reverted to being a bunch of Ninjas/Rambos/Ghosts who can take down armed men with bolas.
It seems like they could have set a trap for these guys pretty easily and taken them out.

re earlier post about “Michael” actor’s comments: It doesn’t seem to me that Michael’s storyline was racist - and it was no more and no less “realistic” than any other characters’ on this wildly unreal show. Curious what others think.
Oh god! It’s number 15!
Michael using Sayid as an example that only the non-minority (?) characters get good endings is pretty silly.
Sounds like he’s bitter about being written out and is making a silly play of the race card.
Remember, on Lost, death≠written off…
I’m not even sure what he’s complaining about here. Is he saying that Lost is playing to the stereotype that all black kids lose their family members to violence because black people live in a violent culture?
Michael lost Walt because he wanted to gain his son’s love and approval, no matter what the cost, and ended up killing two people because of it. And neither of them could live with that, and Walt became estranged from his dad and Michael came back to the Island to atone. It’s not because he’s black, it’s because he’s a messed up human individual.
Is he saying that black people don’t get happy endings? Rose gets healed of her cancer and stays on the Island with Bernard. Is he saying that fatherhood loses out to romance when it comes to interesting? Because that’s absolute bull–Jack’s dad pops up every other episode, Locke’s dad gets killed off in the brig, Hurley has abandonment issues stemming from his dad leaving, Kate killed her biological dad, Jin had to deal with working for Sun’s dad, even Ben never got to reconnect with his daughter. Everyone has dad issues on the Island.
I don’t get it. Seriously, explain it to me.
However, Crossing the producers = Banninated.
Take it back! TAKE IT BACK! Michael is DEAD DEAD DEAD AND HE ISN’T COMING BACK!
