Here’s the thing: If I miss the first episode of something, I might not watch a series. Depends on the show. Well, I missed many of the first episodes of Lost on first broadcast. No worries; there’s always the summer reruns, right? Well, I missed several episodes again.
A couple of years ago a friend let me borrow his Season 1 DVDs. I liked it. But by the time I got to see it, Season 2 was half over. sigh
So I’ve been watching the reruns on SciFi Channel. They’re in Season 2 now, and I’ve just watched ‘Two For The Road’. ‘?’ is playing now.
Alas I am a crusty veteran, but I didn’t really start watching it (Season 1 dvd) until they were somewhere in the middle of broadcasting Season 2. I’ve been downloading it or watching it online as soon as I can get my hands on a new episode ever since. It was basically the gateway show that led me over the hump toward using the internet as my TV medium.
I had tried to watch bits and pieces of episodes here and there when they were originally broadcasting Season 1, but you just can’t get away with those sort of viewing habits with this show.
It appears www.abc.com has all 4 seasons online for free. I’ve watched several episodes that was in the past and the video quality is surprisingly good.
I started it a little while ago, but after X-Files I was suspicious of a show that seemed to convolute itself just for the sake of being confusing without any concrete plan for resolving anything.
I tried a couple of times, but never got more than four or five episodes into it. And based on what I’ve heard my suspicions were well founded.
I think it got worse. I loved the first season, the second season was ok but I was starting to get the impression the writers didn’t know where they were going with any of the weird stuff from season 1, I couldn’t make it through the third.
And all the flashbacks got on my nerves too. Maybe sometime in the future a fan will edit out all the flashbacks, you could watch the show in about 1/2 the time.
