I am disturbed that I keep reading comments like this. (Nothing personal, Joe.) An EMP needn’t act on a plane directly to crash it - all it needs to do is disturb its Fly By Wire system and aerodynamic forces could tear it apart.
There’s no indictation that Desmond being late on the button caused an EMP. Nothing else electronic shut down. We did see metal things start flying, and it apparently caused some sort of earthquake over in New Otherton.
