Regarding the pointless spoiler bickering, did you not read the part of the OP that said:
How does that not imply which movie the spoiler boxes are for?

The name of the thread is “LOTR bloopers.” Are we seriously supposed to assume that every single spoiler box in here is for ROTK when the thread title states otherwise?
All I said is that it would have been helpful to know which movie prisoner was spoiling. What’s so hard about that?
It’s Shelob’s sting. My thought was it looked pretty well healed. In the book, he was stung in the neck but the dynamics of the movie fight would make that strike pretty tricky.
My first thought was that it was an old mark left from when he was hit by the Cave Troll’s spear (not a spoiler, it was in the first friggin’ movie, people!). He did get a pretty nasty bruise from that… maybe bad enough to permantly mark him?
I thought of that too, SPOOFE, but the cave troll’s spear went in under his left arm. I think DesertDog has it right, though.
For Christ’s sake, someone tell this person that the spoiler box in question is from RoTK.
There is at least one scene in TTT in which Legolas has brown eyes instead of blue. Is it on purpose or did they forget Orlando’s contacts?
Do you have a problem? There’s a forum in which you can post it. Otherwise, you’re just being an ass.
Hey, dantheman, take a chill pill. I’ve noticed your tone growing increasingly irate with each new post, and you’re approaching belligerence. Obviously, so has John Mace. Any bets as to how many others viewing the thread have noticed?
For the record, Larry Mudd answered your implied question about which movie was spoiled three posts after you made your initial complaint, eight posts before you decided to take issue with asterion’s (admittedly somewhat dismissive) response, which Larry Mudd himself had pretty much shot down for you within half an hour of its appearance. Watching you continuing to justify your ire against poisoner’s spoiler box is getting embarrassing.
Supposedly his contacts were really irritating his eyes, so there were days that he went without them and they went through and colored them afterwards. I think I heard that on the DVD. Anyway, my WAG is that they probably forgot to do that scene.
The funny thing is I was helping you out, man! I was the guy who gave you the info you were looking for. The “For Christ’s sake” was directed at the people who wanted to argue with you instead of just telling you it was RoTK.
I’ll be carefull not to answer any questions you might have in the future.
dan, I didn’t know the spoiler box was for ROTK either. Pissed me off, too, as I DIDN’T know how it ends. Guess I do now.
Oh well, live and learn.
It was removed but if you saw it before it was removed… it’s the scene where Sam stops in the field and says “With this step I will have gone farther from the Shire than ever before” or something to that effect.
I suppose that it is, but it was awfully well healed for just being a few hours later. And when it happened, I’m pretty sure that part of his body was in the frame of the picture. And how would it have happened through the mithril?
So now I’m not supposing that was it. I don’t know.
You’re right, kayla’sdad, that was belligerent. Sorry, John. Thought you were bitching at me. [hangs head in shame]
Heck, I had the ending spoiled by a MAD Magazine back in 1980 or so.
Pity me.
Oh, and I was wondering…
Since we’re here.
I’m figuring mithril must be as rigid as an old Spanish back-and-breast.
Otherwise Frodo would have been squashed to jelly by that damn cave troll. That thing was as strong as the Hulk! Even if it couldn’t pierce him it should have ruptured every internal organ Frodo possessed leading to nigh-instant death.
In the book it was an orc who got him. That would hurt, and maybe break some ribs, but it wouldn’t be automatically fatal.
That’s not what he said on the DVD commentary. He said something about not knowing anything about the car. Does that mean he’s lying on the commentary? :dubious:
Or you can watch it on the National Geographic Fellowship DVD. It wasn’t fixed on there I hear.
asterion, I for one got your joke and thought it was funny.
