MSN has an article about bloopers in the first two movies.
I admit, I didn’t catch any of them. I haven’t seen ROTK yet (going this weekend) so if there are any bloopers in that movie, please, put them in spoiler boxes.

Those aren’t bloopers. They’re ‘mistakes’ and/or ‘continuity errors’.
A ‘blooper’ is when an actor blows his lines, or some other funny thing happens during shooting. That take isn’t used, but sometimes it’s kept for amusement.
There’s reportedly a LotR blooper reel that will be on the RotK EE DVD.
Okay, fine.
A blooper IS a mistake, according to the dictionary.
That being said, I don’t find it particularly funny when someone blows their lines. "Oh, I just misspoke my line. * HOW INCREDIBLY FUNNY!* ’
I like the Jackie Chan type of bloopers. They look like they hurt.
Considering the Herculean labor PJ undertook in filming these three epic films simultaneously, he should be congratulated that these errors are few and relatively hard to spot.
In more than one scene at the end (after Smiegel bites off his left index finger) you can see that the entirety of all 10 of his fingers.
prisoner, it would have been helpful to know which movie you were spoiling.
Some of the errors that I have spotted so far
Fellowship of the Ring- In the theatrical version there was a car visible in one of the shots (I believe it was during the part where sam say’s "If I take one more step it will be the farthest I’ve been from home)
The Two Towers- Pippin’s hands are not tied in the shot were it looks like the horse has trampled him, but the next scene he is crawling with his hands bound
The Two Towers- When Faramir is talking to Sam and Frodo in the cave barrels in the background appear and disappear
The movie is implied from the content of the spoiler.
Not that helpful, if you’re in the position of having seen some but not all of the films, and don’t want the unseen spoiled. Since, incredibly, not everyone has read the books, and it’s a spoiler from the film that is most likely to have remained unseen, seeing as it was just released yesterday, why leave it ambiguous? It’s a Return of the King spoiler, folks.
Apparently in FOTR theres a car behind a tree in come scene, the amount of times Ive seen that movie and never seen that are beyond count, anyone know what scene its in?
That’s where the car was. Jackson had it digitally removed for the DVD release.
Yes, Jackson removed the car from the DVD version of FOTR. Since that’s the de facto official version from now on, you’ll need to be a personal friend of a cast member or something to ever see it again.
I didn’t hear that he fixed the outstretched arms of the statues in FOTR, the ones that are on either side of the river as the fellowship floats down the canyon and out. One of the statues goes from holding up its left arm to holding up its right arm, if you keep your sense of perspective as you look at the back of them in one of the final shots.
That explains so much, lol, and goes to show that I really should pay more attention to **all ** the posts in a thread!
Thanks
From ROTK. I could be wrong, but I think I caught this:
When Frodo is shirtless, the scar is shown to be on his right side. At the end, when he says to Sam that the wound has never completely healed, he is showing discomfort on his left side.
Also, in ROTK there are several times when actions on different storylines can be connected in time at both ends, but more time has passed in one storyline than the other.
ROTK:
Sam rescues Frodo from the orcs and they dress in orc armor, but soon discard it and appear…in rather fresh-looking hobbit clothes.
It is kind of interesting that they got PJ to comment on them. Something that’s normally the domain of the utterly bored.
More details!!
I was thinking about that beforehand and I looked real hard during the movie to see if they goofed, but I couldn’t detect it.
That’s sure helpful. The whole idea of a spoiler box is to keep people from learning plot turns before they’ve seen the movie. You want me to click on the box to find out if I should click on the box? Better idea - name the movie outside the spoiler box. I really don’t think this is too much to ask.
obfus, in regards to yours:Frodo’s scar from the Witch-king’s blade is on his left shoulder, just above his armpit. When his shirt is off, though, you can see a circular scar over his right breast. That’s not the Witch-king’s wound – anyone have an idea what it is?
