Any idea if there is a fairly simple way to block e-mail from a particular sender so it just sends it back or otherwise deletes it automatically?
By simple, I’m looking for something along the way of steps like in “Rules Wizard” on outlook. I found one solution on an FAQ site, but it involved entering a script of sorts, and the person this is for would never be able to get that right.
If you know how, please put it into simple steps. I have never used this program, and the person this is for is not the most logical/common sense oriented person.
It has been a while since I used Notes, but I believe that the equivalent to “Rules” in Outlook would be “Agents” in Notes. Look through the menu structure and see what you can find…perhaps View/Agents…
I have Notes 4.5.6, so it should be the same or very similar to 4.6. A LNotes “agent” is nothing more than a macro.
Click on CREATE, then AGENT.
Type in a name for the agent.
Click the drop down box to the right of “When should this agent run?”. You have several options, but you probably want to select “When new mail has arrived”.
To the right of “Which document(s) should it act on”, click the ADD SEARCH button.
In the “search builder” window, click the drop down box to the right of “Conditions”.
Select “By Author”, and fill in the author’s LNotes address.
In the bottom left under “What should this agent do?”, click the “Add Actions” button
In the “Add Actions” window, click the drop down box to the right of “Action”.
Select the action you want to perform. You could select “Reply to Sender” or “Delete from Database” or both (select one, complete the window, click on “Add Actions”, select the next one, and so on). Information needed to complete the “Actions” window varies by the action selected, but it’s pretty intuitive.
Click on FILE, then CLOSE.
Click on YES to save changes and you’re done.
You should be able to see your new agent listed by clicking on ACTIONS on the menu bar.
