Love is in the air - or is that smog? A Valentine's MMP

It’s still about 60° outside! Weird February. And, methinks, time for beddy bye…

We shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time.

{{{BigKitty}}} feel better soonest!

Rio I’m not real sure just what you did today but you seem to be all excitated by it, so, YAY!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

“There’s no point in being grown up, if you can’t act childish sometimes” - The Fourth Doctor
Or in my case, I only adult enough to pay for booze and hockey.

Awakened at 0630 by a Hot Flash. Time to get up. Gotta take Lucky Louie out and I have plans to rearrange some furniture and do some more cleaning today. Happy Sunday.

I slept great on/in my new sheets. Sunny they fixed the error I’m guessing with my order. This was a nice upscale store. I’m sure they will not go broke. I will never have to buy sheets again.

I want to rearrange my living room and bedroom. The only problem with the bedroom is there is only one wall without a window that will fit the bed. I could and have put the bed under the windows but I didn’t care to block the windows. I’m gonna think about it some more. The living room is another problem as the wall with the door has two windows and one wall is pockets sliders the entire width of the room. We have a couch, loveseat and two recliners. The TV is mounted on the wall in a corner. I will have to think about this one too.

My house is smallish at 1000SF under roof so it’s not like there is plenty of room to work with. I need a new/bigger house and new furniture. Who here wants to buy those for me?

Coffee’s done.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 76 and mostly N.O.S. by this afternoon. The plan for the day is deheathenization and havin’ a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house so I have taken steaks outta da freezer. I also took some chikin out to thaw as I shall make chikin’ ‘n rice probably for Tuesday. I have a gnawin’ and a cravin’.

OK, now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Amazingly, I mostly slept till 7:30 this morning!! But there were dreams… boy, were there dreams!

First, I showed up at swampy’s house. I’ve never been to his house IRL, but I’m pretty sure my nocturnal representation was wrong because da bear himself, who I have met, was wrong. He was built like my short little (now deceased) Polish grandmother and his voice was about at the pitch of hers, but with a Jawja accent. Anyway, when I got to his house, I didn’t want to disturb him, so I went straight to the bathroom and took a shower. Then I wandered into the kitchen where he and an old couple were sitting at the table, talking. He offered me some candied pecans. There was a little more weirdness but at that point, my logical brain couldn’t reconcile dream **swampy **with real swampy, and I sorta woke up.

When I drifted back off, I was with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, but they were in their characters as Michael and Jackie from That 70s Show. He was a big rig truck driver and I was riding with him. We ended up at a truck stop where he and Jackie were trying to fix me up with other truck drivers. I have no idea if I was still married to **FCD **in this dream, but regardless, I wouldn’t go trolling for a good time at truck stops, let alone with a couple of TV teenagers.

There was something else about trying to get into an apartment building where there were no hallway lights and I didn’t have a key to any door - at that point my brain gave up and suggested I let the dog out to pee.

So I’m up.

Plans for today include finishing with the fence on the side of the house, making some mixed fruit jam, and ironing some shirts for my sweetie. Woohoo!

Happy Sunday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today. It’s gonna be nice, maybe I’ll tailgate before hockey game tonight.

Well, there was that 1200sf house in Key West I was gonna buy, if I won one of those big lottery jackpots.

having dream neighbors over for pecans isn’t weird, it’s nice, dammit!:stuck_out_tongue:

Hurtin’.

I refereed my youth indoor games yesterday and managed to trip over a 6-year old while backing up for a kickoff (I have to go to the center of the field to organize a kickoff or it would take 2 minutes to get re-started), and while I missed falling on the kid, I did land on the hardwood floor with my butt and back. Finished the game and the next two, but my lower back and lower stomach muscles in the front definitely didn’t like that treatment, so whenever I stand up/try to straighten up, I get pain…lots of it.

So need to get the Aleeve out and see if that helps.

Old age is not for falling down.

FCM, I envy you and others; I never seem to remember my dreams, although I must have some.

Still sick. I took one (1) Tylenol Cold & Sinus so we’ll see how long I can stay awake.

FCD wanted to go to Steak-in-a-Sack for breakfast. It’s been over a month since our last disastrous visit there, but they haven’t improved. We ordered a breakfast sammich, a french toast platter, and 2 sodas. We got the sodas right way, but it took almost half an hour to get the rest. And there were only 2 other occupied tables when we arrived and they were already eating!

From what I could tell, they were busy filling to-go-orders and neglecting us and the others who came in as we waited. By the time we got our food, all 12 tables were occupied as well as several stools at the counter, and most people were still waiting. The tab came to just under $25 - apparently 2 slices of french toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon is a $11.50 meal!!!

Never again. We’ve been there 3 times in 2 months, always hoping they’d get better. They seem to get worse. So never again.

butters, have you considered not putting the sofa against the wall? In my last apartment, I used the sofa as a divider for the kitchen/living room (they were really one room with floor covering differences). Sometimes, living in small spaces means that your furniture never gets rearranged (speaking as one who lives in 560 square feet).

Mooooom, count me as another who rarely remembers dreams.

{{{metal mouse}}} Sorry you fell, but glad you didn’t land on a kid.

Today is a day of sloth. I may take a drive just to get out of the house. I’ll do the usual prep of breakfasts/lunches and likely finish up the tail end of a project in the studio. For now, I’m going to finish my coffee and surf.

No rearranging except to move everything that could be moved and cleaned it and under it so the front part of the house is clean including the floors, baseboards and even the wall hangings. I still have laundry and the bedrooms to tackle and cooking. Not sure what I will cook yet but a trip to the store is in order. Tarhed already.

With a king bed, we pretty much only have the one option for arranging our bedroom - as it’s been for the last 12 years. Not that I care much. Most of the time we spend in there, it’s dark and we’re unconscious.

I’d like to do something different with our living room, but 4 doorways and a bow window really limit our options. Actually, I’d just like different furniture. Shortly after we bought our sofa/loveseat/chair/ottoman, I decided I really didn’t like them. But they work and it’s not like we do entertaining that requires fancy-schmancy furniture.

We did a little measuring today and discovered that we don’t need to take the fence down. We’re going to put the paint booth/garage on the truck’s parking pad, then move the truck to the parking pad in the yard. That’ll save us a lot of work and a lot of money. Plus when we sell the house, we’ll have a 3rd garage parking space. So there’s that.

Was at a college-student party last night. Good times.

Also, last night my theory was once again confirmed - my theory that drunk people really like Ritz crackers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Got up too late today, but it’s sort of a chill day after my theatre group’s last peformance yesterday (that was what the party was about - my theatre group celebrating at our annual cast party.)

I don’t drink anymore, but I still enjoy parties.

Happy Sunday!

It’s warm and N.O.S. outside.

I overslept again, but it’s not like I had to be up at any specific time.

Thank you Sunny It’s not easy when your kid is being bullied. Sah-son would never fight back, even though I told him to.

When I came home from school crying one day over being bullied, my father told me to get out there and fight back, and if I ever came home crying again he’d beat my ass. I couldn’t be quite that mean with Sah-son, although maybe I should have been. It seemed like a mean thing to say, but in the long run forcing me to stick up for myself was a good thing.

Somewhere along the line you have to learn to deal with bullies because they are out there in the adult world too.

The Dominoes pizza box has carryout instructions on it. Maybe too many people drop their pizzas? However, since the instructions are on the underside of the box, if you can read them it’s probably too late.

Midget yay for theatre group and party!

Butters yay for productivity!

Metal Mouse boo for falling. Maybe a hot bath would help?

Today I return to the home organization with my minions (AKA hubby and the 'Beamettes). Progress has been made, but there’s more still to do. Tomorrow the cleaning crew descends - huzzah! I suspect I will not achieve perfection but I’ll settle for the vast improvement that has been already achieved.

Moving forward I’m thinking I’ll have a cleaning person once a week. The kids have their chores (and we’re adding more) but reality dictates that I admit being disabled means I need more help. I’m interviewing some folks and hopefully will have a permanent helper picked out soon.

Happy Sunday everyone!

We are getting rid of our maid. She has really slacked off and I’d rather do it myself than pay for a half assed job. Good luck Sunny finding the right person. We may find another one day.

Howdy Y’all! We’ve deheathenated and had N.O.L. I am spendin’ the afternoon sittin’ with a friend who is undergoin’ radiation for liver cancer. I am takin’ afternoon watch so her son and family can do some stuff. Either her son or a grand daughter will be here around fiveish. I shall do this off and on as well as others. She wanted to be at home and was told by her doctor that’s fine as long as someone is always with her as the treatments do tend to make one dizzy, weak, etc. We love Sammie so there is really no end of people who will do this. Right now she’s nappin’ with the teevee on and I sit here with a laptop. Not an awful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I have only had one cleanin’ person in my life. She was a neighbor who would clean house and let the cocker spaniel I had at the time out durin’ the day. She would also come over to watch her soap operas in the afternoon especially when it was warm because I had a/c and she didn’t. That was no problem. Jake, my dawg, just loved her.

I just finished making mixed berry jam and a rather sad batch of rice krispy treats. Note to self - stale marshmallows don’t work as well as fresh ones. Oh well…

I’d bought a bag of frozen mixed berries for **FCD **- he asked me to get him some. And he never opened the bag. It’s been close to a year, so I decided to free up freezer space by making jam. It’s raspberry/blackberry/blueberry jam. Dunno if I’ll like it because I don’t like raspberries, but we shall see. There are 6 full and 1 almost full jars. If we don’t like it, I’ll be giving it away.

**FCD **decided to go to Lowe’s to look at stuff. He could have done it on line, but he wanted to get out of the house, so there he goes. I need to empty the dishwasher and start refilling it with the dishes I just dirtied, then I’ll assume the afghan position. The house is open and the fresh air is wonderful!! Guess we’re getting a super-early spring…
