I’ve had the Midas touch this weekend…everything I touch turns to [del]gold[/del] tires; or more accurately, the stuff on a (farmer’s) tires.
Given how warm it was today, I pulled up the blinds & opened the winders. I realized how dirty they were, so I decided to clean them (at least upstairs) both inside & out. When I started, the woman across the street was sitting outside in a chair while the kids were playing. When I finished, she had gotten up & gone inside & her bearded husband had taken her place. I walked outside & told him this, & then asked for some dirt to throw on them, as I liked the view much, much better view when they were dirty. :smack:
Are you sure it wasn’t the rice krispies that were stale?
What?! I didn’t know this was a thing? Raspberries are awesome!
Sorry to hear this. I noticed you haven’t been around. Hope next week is better.
sunny, hate to say it, but I don’t care for raspberries either.
spidey, when your finished you can come down and do mine…
FCM, guess this is not a good day for eating out. First you and your poor service, then I went to a different Logan’s Roadhouse than usual for dinner, and while the food was on-time and good as usual, the waitress didn’t show to refill the sweet tea for almost 15 minutes or ask if I wanted any more rolls (thems good rolls). So she got half the tip I usually leave and I’ll stick to the other place for my grilled meatloaf.
Reason I went there is that it is closer to the car places, wanted to take another look without having a sales person on my case 2 minutes after parking. The Hyundia Sante fe looks good and they are having a sale, but…blah. The Nissan dealer was having a special Sunday sale so I didn’t stop. The Dodge Durango…I am beginning to like that car…may have to order it in the model/condition I want, but the meter seems to be moving that way. We shall see.
Howdy Y’all! Home from sittin’ with Sammie. Her son came and is takin’ her back to his place for the night. She just wanted to be home for a while. Can’t say as I blame her for that. Anywho others are lined up to do the same durin’ the week. I’ll go back over one day or so as needed. We had a nice visit and she napped for a while. I had intartoobz and teevee to entertain myself as well.
I’m not a big raspberry fan myself.
My church had “visitors” that had not honored us in over a year.
We were picketed by the Westboro Baptist Church! Back when Phred was still alive we got them at least once a month. But while they still picket it’s tapered way off, so when I pulled up to the church this morning, hurrying because I was almost late, I was surprised to see them.
They may have been responding to the news that next week we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of our congregation being consecrated as the cathedral of our (Episcopal) diocese. It will be a big deal, and we are currently hosting a gallery of photographs of the history of the congregation, not just the current building. The congregation itself is over one hundred fifty years old.
I just bought the krispies, and the marshmallows had a Best By date of May 2016. When I was melting them, instead of getting a smooth, creamy whiteness, they all glopped together as one big melty mess. So it was impossible to mix in the cereal. They taste good, but there are too many concentrated marshmallow glops. Oh well.
We had supper at Salsa’s after dropping off the truck for its early-morning oil change. The house is now all closed up and we’re chilling. And we have another day off ahead. Yay!!
What? Given this place, you’re surprised?
Isn’t that right, Snorkley-dew?
(We really need a wide evil grin Smilie )
BTW – we’re home, the relatives were great, dinner was new sausage and peppers, and I’m playing catch-up on the boards here. See yinz tomorrow.
emily, in my neck of the woods, drunks tend to congregate at the Waffle House or Krystal’s for their nutritional needs.
{{{swampy and friend}}} Good on you for taking a turn at respite care. People who did that for my folks were truly appreciated.
Moooom, it’s the blueberries in that mix that I’m not crazy about. I love blackberries and raspberries.
I drove up to where my bike is stored and took a ride this afternoon. My friend and I hit the hills up on the plateau for some good, curvy roads. Popeye’s fixed supper. Now for chillage.
red many late nights/early mornin’s of my misspent youth were spent scarfin’ down hash browns and Krystal gut bombers.
See, we don’t have a Krystal, Popeyes, Krispy Creme, Logans ( is that the one with the peanuts?), cracker barell none of that. The nearest fast food is 25 miles from my home. So, I roasted a chicken, and had coleslaw, baked sweet tater, green beans and a beet salad which is jarred Aunt Nellie’s beet, onions and homegrown tomatoes mixed with beet juice and a bunch of apple cider vinegar. I may have some more of those beets before bed.
FYI. According to OPM the holiday tomorrow is not President’s Day but Washington’s Birthday. The law was never changed to change the name. There is your fun factoid of the day.
Tarhred.
I did bring lots of food to the party, including the Ritz crackers, and including some homemade cookies. It all got eaten. Someone at the party even asked for my cookie recipe.
George Washington and I share a birthday, February 22.
:dubious:
President’s day combines Washington and Lincoln, so we get less time off from work.

Bastids.
I wouldn’t have any problem with it actually being for all Presidents except the current one.
For those wondering what my last post was about: I am a member of a Mardi Gras krewe. Yesterday we loaded all of our beads and other items (throws) onto the floats, and today was parade day. A great time was had by all. Very large quantities of alcohol were consumed.
I think I would have to include a couple others as well. I don’t care if he was from PA, James Buchanan? Not one I want to honor all that much. And Andy-by-God Jackson. And -------- OK - the list keeps growing the more I think about it.
Oh, and Nixon. The SOB never put me on his enemies list. The nerve! I’m a terrific enemy! Just ask --------- anyone.
Sad.
